I am hearing and have worked in deaf environments for over 10 years, using BSL daily, and am committed to ongoing BSL study.
Life has many layers and navigating them can be overwhelming. You may have experienced a sudden change or sense a yearning to regroup and take stock. I am a warm and down-to-earth trainee counsellor and psychotherapist who will walk alongside as you explore life’s challenges and possibilities. We will work together at your pace, making links that help to make sense of your experiences or perhaps uncover blockages. Some sessions may be dynamic while others reflective. We can explore using talking therapy and creative approaches. It may be useful to explore through visualisation, drawing or working with a dream.

Hey, thanks for looking at my profile. I've been qualified since 2008, treating fatigue, issues related to ADHD and ASD, issues related to head injury, trauma, OCD, health anxiety and BDD; but I can help with most difficulties. I was the Chair of the Section of Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity of the British Psychological Society until October 2024 when I founded the LGBTQ+ psychological society, PSIIQC. I'm also a gay, cis-gender man and trans ally. I work in partnership with a prescriber to offer ADHD diagnosis (meeting NHS/NICE standards) and medication (turnaround often only 2 to 3 weeks).

For more than a decade, I've witnessed the transformative power of therapy in my work within mental health services. I believe creating an explorative and supportive space is key to unlocking your inner strength and improving your mental well-being. Are you ready to: Gain deeper self-awareness? Break free from unhealthy patterns? Build stronger, more fulfilling relationships? If you're experiencing distress, repeating unwanted behaviours, or simply seeking personal growth, you're not alone. There's a part of you reaching out for help and another part that knows things can be better.

My approach is clinical, caring, and collaborative. Many of my clients begin therapy when they’re feeling stuck, anxious, or after experiencing a significant life event. In a safe and supportive space, we explore their current difficulties understanding what has happened, what might be maintaining the problem, and how we can begin to reframe or change the situation. Often, clients come to therapy saying, “I just want to be happy” or “I want to feel like myself again.” Together, we unpack what happiness and self-connection truly means for you and explore why these feelings may feel out of reach right now.

I fully believe that when difficulties affect your day-to-day wellbeing, every person can try to find a way towards their desired outcome, should they choose to. I would be honoured to take that journey with you. I believe that taking the first step in considering speaking with someone is often the hardest step to take. I aim to offer you a safe, relaxed and confidential space in which to hold your thoughts, fears and triumphs. Together we will work towards building a therapeutic relationship based on an honest, trustworthy and non-judgemental foundation.

I am experienced in different life issues: If you are Deaf I can sign BSL or you might be on the Autistic Spectrum.
My approach to counselling is based around integrative therapy, which brings together different elements of several therapies. Integrative therapists believe that there is no single approach that can effectively treat each person in all situations and so combine the most appropriate and essential components according to client need.

I believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone no matter their back ground or social status. I specialize in psychodynamic therapy, which explores how unconscious processes and past experiences shape current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This therapeutic approach is particularly effective for those experiencing anxiety, depression, or struggling to understand themselves on a deeper level. Psychodynamic therapy is a proven and powerful tool for addressing emotional difficulties, as it helps individuals make sense of their emotions and life experiences.

As much as it can be wonderful, life can really difficult at times and this can leave us struggling with unwanted thoughts, feelings, and memories. These can easily lead to us getting stuck in a cycle of unhelpful and at times harmful patterns of behaviour that affect ourselves as well as other people. Sometimes we continue in these patterns even when we know they are not helping which can lead to more stress, frustration, and self-criticism. If this sounds like you, rest assured there is nothing wrong with you, you are just human and like all of us, are doing your best to manage life's challenges.

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected? You’re not alone. Whether you’re struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, or BPD, or other difficulties you might find it hard to express what’s really going on. Maybe traditional talking therapy feels intimidating, or words just don’t feel enough. Want to feel heard, understood, and supported in a way that truly works for you—without pressure or judgment? My goal is to help you process emotions, build resilience, and find clarity using methods that feel safe and comfortable for you. Therapy should adapt to you, not the other way around.
