I offer long term, open ended and short term face to face Psychodynamic counselling/psychotherapy to individuals and couples, who as a result of traumatic life events experienced in both childhood and adulthood have felt they have been unable to cope with or make sense of life. I provide therapy for individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety, PTSD. Individuals who are genuinely interested in exploring themselves and are looking for self knowledge and awareness as to why they behave the way they do, as well as trying to understand and change "negative" behaviours, will benefit most from the therapy that I offer.

I see individuals and couples with a variety of needs, ranging from deep psychological and emotional difficulties to a wish to optimize inner resources, life competencies and wellbeing. Distress may arise in response to specific life events, or more generally from difficulties in our private or professional lives. Therapy offers opportunities to be fully heard, to identify obstacles in the way of healing and growth, to generate insights and to develop new life skills. I approach my work with sensitivity to the uniqueness of each individual, and tailor my interventions to best meet their therapeutic goals and sustain positive change.

Expressing our vulnerabilities can be risky especially if we feel our society is too quick to judge or misunderstand our personal experience(s). I completed my undergraduate studies at King’s College London and my postgraduate/ doctoral studies at the University of Surrey. I am able to work using a number of approaches including humanistic, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural, integrative and EMDR approaches. I offer individual and couple's therapy online. I can offer a free 30-minute consultation where we can discuss what you want to work on and whether you feel we could work together to achieve your goals.

Would you like help after a difficult life experience? Perhaps you are finding it difficult to sleep or to concentrate on things that you can normally do without difficulty? You may have been through a difficult experience recently or in the past and know exactly what you would like some help with. Equally, you might be feeling really down or anxious in general or in particular situations and not know why. It could be that something that happened to you a long time ago is still causing difficulties.

Making the first step to accept that things aren't working can feel daunting. Perhaps you know exactly what you want to change or perhaps you have lost sight of what you want along the way. I specialise in working with clients who are making adjustments in their lives; perhaps after illness, into parenthood or retirement or to a new place. My clients often say that having a supportive space to process difficult feelings balanced with an active method which empowers them in their recovery is what is most helpful about therapy. My approach begins with the assumption that we all have strengths that we just may need support to uncover.

I’m a highly qualified and professionally experienced psychotherapist/counsellor and psychologist. I have abundant experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures in the NHS and the private settings, for both the short-term and long-term periods. Rather than offering clients so-called expert’s version of advice, I offer therapeutic work tailored to suit the individual needs of clients, whilst acting as a facilitator to the clients’ process to find their own ways to deal with their issues. This will lead the clients to experience self-discovery and self-acceptance while strengthening their self-healing process.

I am a transpersonal practitioner trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust. Transpersonal encompasses mind, body and spirit in the therapy process. It is primarily a talking therapy but it also involves experiential exercises, visualisation and guided meditation. Before I trained in psychotherapy I spent many years in the creative industries, where I became very familiar with anxiety and stress related conditions. I also have twenty years experience of working with alcohol and substance misuse. I work with anxiety, trauma, panic attacks, relationship problems and difficulties that occur in coping with everyday life.

I can imagine, given that you are here, there may be something in your life that is causing you discomfort. Welcome, and well done for taking the first step towards getting some support. Some people seek out therapy because they have felt depressed, anxious or angry for a long time; others may want help for relationship difficulties, self-destructive habits or a chronic illness that is interfering with their emotional or physical well-being. Sometimes, unexpected changes or circumstances also bring people into therapy - for example, going through a divorce, feeling overwhelmed by a new job, or grieving the loss of a family member.

I have limited space for 1-2 clients: I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist, working with couples and individuals. I understand how overwhelming it can be trying to choose a therapist. I find a chat on the telephone is often a good place to begin. My website should offer a sense of who I am and how I work helping people feel a bit more comfortable about the process. A really positive therapeutic relationship can be transformative, it is a relationship and I really care about my clients and their outcomes. Your goals, and way of being will shape the way we work together.

Therapeutic Counselling using the Arts, encompasses therapy and developmental psychology which enables me to work with and support clients to develop skills, to understand their personal circumstances better. Such skills are then internalised over time which helps their situation to be more manageable. l offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment to support our work, which brings skills of heightened empathy, observational skills and counter-transference into the clinical work, & broadens the experience for the client. I strongly believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and its impact on our work.

How can I find a therapist in London?
Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
