Hello and Welcome, Life can indeed be difficult at times. Many are struggling with mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. Our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings can rise to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a PHD(Hon), Master Degree and EMDR(Accredited), I've seen thousands come through my door, with various presenting issues and undergo genuine transformation, healing and leave with hope for the future.

I often hear my clients commenting that "other people have much bigger problems". In some cases, they're right. However, knowing this doesn't make our own problems and challenges any easier or less heavy of a burden. If something feels painful for us then it's OK to feel that way even if it 'seems' less than that which someone else has to put with. It's also ok to admit that we need some help in coping.
My approach is gentle, allowing you time to get comfortable and unfurl. The first step is to develop trust in the therapeutic relationship between us. Without that, therapy really cannot go very far.

I work theraputically with anger, shame, addiction, depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, spiritual concerns, relationship problems and other issues.
I use a range of approaches, including person-centred, psychodynamic, existential, inner child work and narrative therapy. My main approach to therapy is relational and attachment based. We learn who we are in relationships, and when we struggle in our relationships, it can impact everything else in our lives.

I am interested in spirituality, sexuality, polyamory, parts work, generational trauma, dysfunctional family life, the nervous system, self-harm, developmental and event trauma, relational and somatic work.

The fact that you're here suggests a curiosity and a need to find someone to listen and to help you think about your current situation. It takes courage to reach out and connect with someone unknown to talk about feelings and emotions. Therapy offers a safe space to do so where you are met with warmth and empathy. I offer a comfortable non-judgemental confidential space where we can work together to make things better by making sense of your experiences.

Navigating today's world doesn't get any easier, does it? Social media tells us how to look and feel and yet many of us can end up feeling shamed and inadequate. We may have goals we want to achieve yet it's all too easy to feel discouraged, out of control, and feel we will never get there. Sometimes the only thing we feel we can have control over is our eating or other addictions. But this usually leads into a downward spiral. What my clients have found is that by joining me in a course of psychological therapy they can unravel the twists and turns they have found themselves in.

For me, therapy works best when it feels like a real human relationship – professional, boundaried, & psychologically informed, but also warm & collaborative. My first priority is to help you feel safe enough to be honest (including about the parts you don’t usually say out loud).
We’ll go at a pace that’s manageable & make sense of what’s going on together rather than me “doing therapy to you.” I’ll bring compassion & steadiness, but I’m also not afraid to be direct when something matters in a way that’s respectful. The aim is always to help you understand yourself better & leave sessions with something useful to take into life.
