I work theraputically with anger, shame, addiction, depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, spiritual concerns, relationship problems and other issues.
I use a range of approaches, including person-centred, psychodynamic, existential, inner child work and narrative therapy. My main approach to therapy is relational and attachment based. We learn who we are in relationships, and when we struggle in our relationships, it can impact everything else in our lives.

Life can sometimes leave you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. You may be struggling with difficult emotions, loss, or major life changes, and finding it hard to make sense of what you are experiencing.
Having lived across different cultures, worked in large multinational organisations, and experienced major life transitions, I understand how our histories and cultural backgrounds shape the way we see ourselves and others.

I offer a compassionate and confidential environment, where you can feel safe to explore any issues in your life, in an accepting and non-judgmental way. Over more than a decade, I have worked with a wide variety of clients, supporting them through difficult times by helping them to express and understand their thoughts and feelings, transform the relationship with themselves and others, and live their life more confidently. I integrate psychoanalytic and Jungian approaches in open and creative ways, for example working with external relationships and influences from the past that shape our "internal world".

Clients reach out to me because they are struggling within themselves, their work or their relationships. They might be feeling depressed, anxious, dreadful, stressed, overwhelmed, lonely, angry, empty, numb, purposeless, meaningless, traumatised, disconnected; yet not realise it. They might need to feel better, and live fulfilled lives. They may want to discover themselves and what would make them happy. At times people enter therapy in a crisis or for a multitude of other reasons and stay for various lengths of time. The time of entry is usually significant. Therapy is no longer a stigma; self development is now a norm.

You may be here because something in your life no longer feels quite right. Perhaps you find yourself returning to familiar difficulties, feeling stuck in old patterns, or carrying questions you can't quite answer on your own.
This might follow a loss, a relationship ending, a career shift, becoming a parent, or simply a sense that something needs attention. Life may be carrying on as usual, and underneath there is a sense of feeling stuck, unsettled or unsure of what comes next.

I look to build a strong alliance with all my clients based on empathy and creating a safe space for sharing. This bond allows us to investigate any issues that may present themselves, working side by side to explore how it is to be you.

You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or navigating a period of change that feels uncertain or difficult to manage. You might be carrying grief — recent or longstanding — or noticing patterns in relationships that feel hard to shift. On the outside you may appear to be coping, but internally something feels unsettled or stuck.

Hi, I’m Shyko, and I appreciate you clicking onto my profile. I recognise how daunting it can be to search for a psychotherapist; somebody you will share deeply personal parts of yourself with. I don’t take that lightly, so welcome. You might be carrying a painful experience that has impacted you. My work is trauma-aware and I draw on varied approaches to facilitate deeper understanding, growth and change.

Often the beginning of therapy is the sharing of stories, about life and life experience. I listen exceptionally carefully to this, to help you use the space to begin to make sense of what has happened and how you want to view what has happened.
Most client appreciate being listened to, although this can take time to feel okay. Also in those first few sessions client value the sense of containment and safety I offer, as the work progresses this sense of safety is often what helps us to feel safe to explore difference and what that might mean for our relationships.
