I have a particular clinical and theoretical interest in states of depersonalisation, derealisation, trauma-related dissociation, and narcissistic personality structures.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy involves helping you to identify and understand recurring themes and patterns in your relationships. Although certain ways of relating may have been conducive to your survival at one point, you may now be experiencing their cost. Psychotherapy aims to make these relational patterns conscious and thus more amenable to change.

I welcome all survivors of violence and abuse, but especially those historically silenced or pathologised: people diagnosed with what psychiatry calls personality disorders (especially BPD), survivors of colonial violence, and those dismissed as “insane” or materialistically reduced into being owners of a "faulty" brain or genes. My work bridges three domains: psychology, life sciences, and post-colonial criticism of abusive power structures - be it at home, at work, or in the nation, and in this sense isn't therapy, but psychological formulation towards autonomy and self-authority.

Hello and welcome. I’m here to help you find the inner strengths you need to unblock what’s troubling you and move on with your life. My clients tell me I’m warm, kind and insightful – which is good, because my main aim is to offer a safe, welcoming place where you feel willing and able to consider making changes. Most of us aren’t used to reaching out for professional support. We’re brought up to think asking for help can be a sign of weakness. But whatever you’re facing, working together with a professional therapist can let you see a way forward.

Being trained psychodynamically, enables me to look at patterns & coping mechanisms that may have been set down in the past but that are repeating, unconsciously and often unhelpfully, in the present. Often these come to light when a crisis - bereavement; the end of a relationship; redundancy; illness - occurs. Perhaps an overwhelm of anxiety, depression & panic attacks have led you to this page now... By offering an authentic, non- judgemental & confidential space I can help you to explore the difficult feelings which you are experiencing, to enable you to understand and process what is occurring now, so as to navigate the future.

I am an experienced and accredited psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor. The less we are aware of our hidden feelings, thoughts and perceptions, the more they control us and the more we stay stuck in old patterns that repeat themselves. I will work with you to help you understand how you find yourself unable to make changes to your life, sometimes overwhelmed by your suffering. I work with adults, young adults and couples and I accept some insurance referrals.

My early training working in multiple GP surgeries across London and as an honorary therapist at MIND introduced an existential framework for which I am grateful and use in my work today; how do we 'be' in this world. I was drawn to Transactional Analysis (TA), the social and behavioural study of human interaction. Why do we do and say, think and feel the way we do? My passion is the psychology of humans, their capacity for resilience building and how we attach, often involving the pain of disconnection. I integrate all my clinically researched trainings into a therapeutic approach grounded in acceptance, compassion and growth.

Sometimes we encounter problems that can feel insurmountable and we find ourselves suffering and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. For some, the cause may be a specific event or transition in life. At other times, the roots of our struggles may seem vague, experienced through repeating patterns in our lives, depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships or addictions. Such experiences can be a call for us to look within and to expand our level of awareness and enable new modes of being that allow us to build deeper, more meaningful relationships with ourselves and others.

Struggling with overwhelming emotions? Mood-swings? Or no feelings at all? I am a highly skilled clinical psychologist and psychotherapist specialising in more complex presentations, often trauma-related and/or resistant to change. A lot of my clients present with mood- or anxiety-driven symptoms that stem from more long-term patterns. Some have had therapy before and might feel frustrated or a bit hopeless about their experience. Or they are already very well educated about their symptoms and are looking for a way to turn all that knowledge into the results they are hoping for. I am here to support you with all my experience.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Counsellors

What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?

By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?

Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?

It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
