You might be feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or constantly in your own head. On the surface, life looks fine, but inside, there’s stress, self-doubt, or a sense that something just isn’t settled. Maybe you’re noticing old patterns showing up again, or feeling disconnected from yourself and the people around you. You don’t need everything to be “fixed”, you just want some clarity, calm, and space to breathe. This is a place to slow down, explore what’s been weighing on you, and reconnect with yourself at your own pace. You don’t have to have the right words or a clear goal just a sense that you’d like things to feel lighter.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, unseen, or at a crossroad in life. Many of my clients are driven, thoughtful, and deeply committed to what they do, but are quietly navigating exhaustion, self-doubt and loneliness, feeling things need to change. At times it’s difficult to identify when repeated patterns that don’t seem to be working anymore could be related to difficult experiences from childhood and how they can still quietly shape how you feel about yourself and others. I have worked with many insightful decision-makers who transformed their emotional struggles and burnout into mental clarity and emotional resilience.

Offering adults therapy and psychological assessment in the centre of London and online. I think that every person’s therapy journey is different. Some people need skills and coping techniques to help deal with things in their current context. For others it is important to address the underlying psychological mechanisms that give rise to the problems or symptoms at different points in life. For some it is important to address childhood origins of problems so that they can break free of repeating, destructive life patterns. I want to help people find the journey that is right for them.

The longer I work as a therapist the more convinced I am that when I go into the therapy room I do not meet an issue, a problem, or a diagnosis, I meet a human being. And if we are going to work together, then I need to be seeing the client’s world (as far as I can) through the client’s eyes. So I hesitate to say that I specialise in any particular issue. I hope I specialise in listening deeply and with attention to human beings. I like to think that therapy is like a guide that encourages you to see what you may have missed or ignored. I work with clients encouraging different aspects of the personality to find their voice.

As a Chartered Clinical Psychologist I practice ISTDP (Intensive Short- Term Dynamic Psychotherapy), which is a highly effective evidence based 'attachment focused therapy' that rapidly addresses your underlying issues at an emotional level. This allows you to pay closer attention to yourself and your emotions in ‘healthier’ ways, enabling you to experience your emotions to their fullest and allowing a natural healing process to occur. This not only brings symptomatic relief but more importantly it enables you to use your feelings to guide your decision making in all areas of your life, allowing you to blossom and reach your full

Attachment-based Counsellors

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioural Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
