I have worked as a therapist for many years and enjoy helping people make sense of their experiences. I value hearing each person's story and supporting them to find inner calm, understanding, and change unhelpful patterns. There are many reasons why people seek therapy and would like someone to talk to. I have specialist interest and experience in working with a variety of difficulties, primarily depression , anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues and attachment difficulties. I am experienced in working with people of all ages, as well as couples, families and groups.

Is anxiety affecting how you feel about yourself, making you feel like you’re in a trap with limited options? We can work together to get you closer to who you want to be, break down those barriers and open up choices for you in life. I have worked successfully with many people on the challenges of anxiety, helping them to find the answers they’ve been looking for. You will be able to talk about experiences, make sense of them, and come to terms with them. Counselling can help you to develop as a person with fresh understanding. I can listen to you and support you so that you can move forward and get the most out of life.

Some people seek psychotherapy and counselling because of a quiet desire for something more, some because of an absence of joy and liveliness, some feel a lingering sadness, some find themselves in shallow relationships, some are suffering the pains of depression , anxiety or anger, some feel close to madness, some are curious to take a closer look at the riches within.

Well into the 21st centuries, life has become faster and in many ways“easier” – the world is a click away – yet the demands have grown too. We are expected to be efficient, confident, independent and yet connected, relaxed, free. Contradicting expectations leave us confused, tense, dissatisfied ad it is difficult to navigate through vague routes. Against this background noise, we juggle relationships, families, work, friendships and sometimes the difficulties of the process become unmanageable. At times our struggle might take the shape of a psychological disorder: OCD, anxiety, depression ; more often we feel confused or exhausted.

When there is no one to talk to, or you feel that you would be a burden if you did, it’s time to talk to me. Perhaps there's no particular reason why; you just feel different, or anxious, stressed, out-of-place, lonely, frustrated or confused. If you think it’s too embarrassing to tell anyone, you don’t want to make a big deal out of things, or you don’t want to appear weak for not having the answers, and it feels like no-one would understand. It's ok. You have come to the right place. I'm a psychologist, working part-time in an NHS complex anxiety and depression service. I am also a dating and relationship specialist. I can help.

Whether it is anxiety, depression , addiction or another issue something is maintaining it to the point that you just can’t shake it off.
I offer short term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which will enable you to better understand what is maintaining a particular issue so that we can work together towards making you feel better. To be clear you are the expert on you and my role is to support you so that you may help yourself without having to spend an inordinate amount of time having therapy or continually returning to therapy. I offer an initial six entirely confidential sessions at a safe space in Bow, East London. Alternatively I am also qualified in Gestalt humanistic therapy too for if the issue runs a bit deeper and the support needed is longer term.

" Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people." C Jung - Life events, experiences and relationships can have an impact on how we feel within ourselves making it difficult to cope day to day. Therapy can help us understand these experiences, helping one gain insight and perspective. Gaining understanding can be powerful and prompt change. I work with my client to identify issues within their life that may contribute to distress or problems.

I am an integrative practitioner which means that my practice is influenced by more than one approach. In my work I focus on adapting the best-suited approach to your individual needs. This might entail helping you find coping strategies to address specific symptoms or assisting you to increase understanding of yourself and your relationships with others. I am also using DIT model (Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy) which is a 16 sessions time limited therapy aiming to identify and change unhelpful patterns affecting your important relationships and professional achievements.

I'm a warm and down-to-earth psychotherapist, currently working both online and in-person in Dalston, London E8. I offer weekly therapy with adults on a 1-to-1 basis. I've worked with people experiencing anxiety, depression , low self-worth, relationship difficulties, loneliness & isolation, bereavement, conflicts at work or home, traumatic experiences & finding meaning, amongst many other issues. You may have a more vague sense of dissatisfaction and you don't need to be in crisis to find counselling useful; attending regularly can also be seen as an act of generous self-care, bringing greater insight, perspective & ease.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
