I work with people facing a wide range of issues, and I tailor my approach to suit your individual needs. Together, we’ll find a way of working that feels right for you. Alongside my private practice at Number 42, I also work in primary and secondary NHS services, and with South East London Mind. This broad experience allows me to meet a wide variety of emotional and psychological needs with sensitivity and care. My style is relational, reflective, and trauma-informed. I believe we all have the capacity to grow and create change in our lives — sometimes we just need the right conditions to support that process.

Whether you’re coming to therapy with a specific concern, or you’re feeling generally overwhelmed and want support with your wellbeing, I offer a calm, supportive space to explore what’s going on for you. I work using a CBT approach, which means we’ll focus on understanding your thoughts, emotions, and patterns of behaviour, and how these might be keeping you stuck. Together, we’ll clarify what you want to change and work towards goals that feel realistic, meaningful, and right for you.

I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience. Individuals coming to see me may be considering therapy for a specific concern or difficulty (e.g. anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties) or have a specific question, event or life transition that needs attention. Others may have noticed that they are stuck in unhelpful and painful patterns. Or perhaps wanting to get to know themselves on a deeper level or change the way they interact with themselves.

Most of us have compulsions and addictions to varying degrees, and recognise the feelings of frustration and stuckness that accompany them. Sometimes they are obvious, such as drinking despite negative consequences. Others are more subtle. There are protective masks we’ve learned to wear that we don't know how to put down, limiting beliefs heaped on us by the world that we carry as if we chose them, and behaviours we can’t explain yet can’t stop. All these possibly once provided a sense of safety. But with time, they limit and trap us. Working together I can help you uncover a new, freer path, allowing more of you to breathe.

I work with adults, young people, and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, emotional overwhelm, identity-related struggles, grief, and relationship difficulties, while remaining culturally aware and anti-oppressive.
Sometimes people come to therapy feeling emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in painful patterns, disconnected from themselves, or exhausted from carrying too much alone. You may be struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, past experiences, or a sense that you have spent much of your life surviving rather than truly feeling able to be yourself. I offer a warm, relational, and non-judgemental space where we can explore your experiences together and help you develop greater self-understanding, emotional clarity, and a more connected relationship with yourself and others.

You may keep going even when things feel difficult, particularly in your relationships, your self-esteem, or within yourself.
I work in a sensitive, trauma-informed and integrative way, drawing on different approaches depending on what feels helpful for you. At times, I may invite you to notice your physical experience, such as your breath or bodily sensations, as a gentle way of connecting with your emotions and what they may be telling you.

Whether you are struggling with a specific issue, or are just looking for more meaning, psychotherapy can help you make sense of your past and present situation, approach your life and relationships with more awareness, self-esteem, direction and purpose, and let go of the pain of the past.
I am a UKCP qualified Integrative Psychotherapist (UKCP) and Chartered Counselling Psychologist (DCPsych, CPsychol., AFBPsS). Everyone deserves to have someone in their lives who can listen compassionately and hold a space of non-judgemental understanding. I try to offer that space, first and foremost. While doing this, I seek to understand where things may have been difficult and hold in mind your potential for growth and change. The underlying core of my approach is based on respecting your needs and safety, as well as helping you bring out your innate wisdom and strengths.

I have particular experience working with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, but welcome all people and all issues.
I offer online (£50) or in-person (£65) counselling sessions from Clapham (SW4), London Bridge (SE1) and King's Cross (WC1). I believe there is no ‘one size fits all’ in counselling; I will work with you to create the therapy that you want and need, including the option to work creatively with sand tray, writing or drawing if you’d like to.

Every individual has their own unique journey towards self-acceptance. In our work together, I will help you gain deeper insight into the challenges you are facing and consider ways to bring about meaningful change. We will mutually agree on a pace that feels right for you to start looking more deeply into what is causing you to suffer. Together, we'll explore ways to challenge negative or harmful patterns and identify healthier alternatives. My approach is primarily person-centered, though I may also draw from other therapeutic styles using a holisitic/psychospiritual lens to support the shift towards healing the whole self.

Self Esteem Counsellors
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
