My main approaches used are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
I work from a place of trying to support people in becoming unstuck and starting to move forward. Everybody comes to therapy with their own unique reasons. This can be due to specific psychological difficulties, such as depression or anxiety, feeling sad, difficult early life experiences, traumatic events, high-stress levels, or a general sense of feeling unfulfilled. I believe every person has a unique story, and psychological therapy should be adjusted appropriately as there is no “one-size-fits-all” in understanding our mental world.

I offer psychodynamic therapy that helps you uncover hidden patterns from past experiences that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others.
You may look like you're coping — but inside, things feel stuck, heavy, or disconnected. Maybe you're tired of repeating the same patterns, unsure how to move forward. I offer a warm, thoughtful space to explore what’s beneath the surface. Together, we’ll work at your pace, helping you feel more grounded, more yourself, and more able to move forward with clarity.
I understand that reaching out can feel daunting. If you’re unsure, I offer a free 15-minute call to help you decide if it’s the right fit.

My therapeutic approach has been influenced by integrative, humanistic, cognitive behavioural, applied behaviour analysis, meditation, mindfulness-based, psychodynamic therapy, ISTPD etc.
I was born and raised in multicultural societies all my life. Living in several different countries on 3 different continents (United Arab Emirates, Canada, Pakistan, Wales and England) has given me unique knowledge about culturally adapting therapy. It has also taught me to understand and work with many different kinds of people. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship with the client to create a safe and comfortable space to address and potentially alleviate psychological trauma. I have extensive experience adapting contemporary therapy and counselling and tailoring it to unique cultural nuances.

In our integrative treatment approach, we'll explore how past experiences shape your current behavior through Psychodynamic Therapy, while Existential Therapy will help you find clarity and purpose as we tackle life's deeper questions.
Changing old patterns of behavior and core beliefs is often challenging and not immediately apparent. As the saying goes, "you can’t read the label from inside the jar," meaning it can be difficult to identify or solve your own problems when you are too close to them. I am here to help, support, and encourage you on your journey to self-healing and self-discovery, whether you are experiencing depression or anxiety, grieving a loss, wondering if a relationship will work out, or just do not feel like you are living the life you were meant to live.

psychodynamic, behavioural, humanistic, existential & transpersonal.
The modern pressures of life can take their toll on us – increasing responsibilities and being connected 24/7 can leave us feeling burnt out, anxious, and overwhelmed. Even when we do manage to disconnect, we find it difficult to disconnect from our racing thoughts. If you’re new to therapy it can be daunting, however taking this brave step can be rewarding. It can give you the space to explore what is really going on, process difficult emotions, develop healthy coping strategies and restore your mental well-being - so that you aren’t just surviving, but thriving in the world.

My approach is working Integratively, combining the core therapies of person centred, psychodynamic and behavioural tailored to individual client needs.
I gave my Counselling business the name NuVista (new view/Horizon because it was born from my vision and indeed my own personal journey that counselling or talking therapy can give people a new view of life once they; with the therapists help have explored and untangled the issues that make them anxious, stressed, depressed, bereaved, feeling suicidal or simply struggling with day to day life, or their jobs, their relationships their family life, their sexuality or even historical events that have been rendered unconscious or hidden and never spoken about. For me the goal or vision was to have a new outlook on life - a New View.

I am a trained psychodynamic counsellor with over 20 year's experience in the profession and have worked in a variety of settings including schools, universities, community centers, the NHS and in private practice.
You might be feeling stuck or wondering whether you've made the right decision. You might not even know what the right decision is. You might even want to explore who it is that you are, why you do the things that you do, or why you're in the situation that you're in. If that is you, then consider what it is that counselling and psychotherapy might be able to do in helping you to consider all these questions that you might have about yourself and your situation.

I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience. Individuals coming to see me may be considering therapy for a specific concern or difficulty (e.g. anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties) or have a specific question, event or life transition that needs attention. Others may have noticed that they are stuck in unhelpful and painful patterns. Or perhaps wanting to get to know themselves on a deeper level or change the way they interact with themselves.

Psychodynamic Counsellors
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
