Life happens, and the majority of the time we seem to find a way to "happen" with it. We find a way to navigate through the motions of "doing" and get to a place of "being". Being excited, being present, being happy - but sometimes along the way it can get confusing, blurry and we can feel a bit lost. As a certified counsellor, I work with you through the confusion, to get to a place of clarity. I explore the past and present with you using an integrated therapeutic approach - blending the different skills I've learnt in practice to assist you with where you are right now. Many therapists talk about the varying styles of therapy

I work with adults and adolescents who are, for a variety of reasons, dealing with discomfort throughout their daily lives. This can be internal (who am I? Am I enough? What am I here for?), external or, more often, a messy combination of the above. I work with people like you who are looking for a space to look at what works and doesn't in their lives, finding patterns and using insight to guide real, meaningful change. You might be coming to therapy to cope better, to examine your past experiences or to simply gain insight into yourself. It is what we make it. Outside of Private Practice I teach therapy at 2 training providers.

Many of my adult and young clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed with worries, can't sleep, feel stuck, and are very self-critical. You may find yourself feeling stressed, anxious about what others think (social anxiety), having intrusive thoughts (OCD), struggling with your emotions, and not being your authentic self. Together, we can help you understand what’s been holding you back, develop healthier ways of coping and relating, and move towards a life that feels more meaningful, connected and true to who you are.

Welcome. Whatever has brought you to scroll these profiles, the right therapeutic relationship can help you be heard, seen and understood. The journey often starts in a place of discomfort: anxiety, bereavement, feeling lost, stuck or frustrated with repeated patterns of behaviour that you can't seem to shift (in life and relationships), physical or mental health problems or the pain of old wounds that haven't healed. These crisis moments are often a call to personal growth and development, and sometimes to find a new path in life. I can offer you a safe and non-judgemental space to explore your situation and begin to move forward.

You may be feeling emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or unsettled, especially during a period of change or transition. You might be struggling with anxiety, low mood, guilt, shame, fear, loss, or the lasting effects of difficult experiences, including spiritual abuse. Perhaps familiar ways of coping no longer help, and you want a space to slow down, make sense of what’s going on, and feel genuinely heard while working toward greater clarity and balance.

I help people feel more in control of their emotions, more self-aware, and more compassionate towards themselves. I blend professional and personal insight as a psychotherapeutic counsellor, and my background in career mentorship gives me a grounded understanding of workplace pressures and chronic stress. I work with adults, adolescents, and children, paying particular attention to the “inner child” in adults — using structured and creative methods to address unmet needs, old fears, and limiting beliefs. Together, we will work to meet life's challenges with calm, quiet self-criticism and foster genuine self-acceptance.

With over a decade of experience as a UKCP-registered Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, many families come to me because their child or young adult is anxious, overwhelmed, autistic, traumatised, or struggling with big emotions. You may feel exhausted or unsure how to help them feel calmer and more connected. You want someone who understands your child’s world, supports you as a parent, and can also help older teens/young adults who feel stuck or lost. Many families I meet feel isolated or unseen, and they’re looking for my support to help the whole family feel more connected and move forward.

We'll work with both your mind and body, using talk, creative methods, and play to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered throughout your healing journey.
You’ve explored BPD, C-PTSD and Depression and related to everything a little. Maybe you’ve been “holding it together” for so long, you barely notice the weight anymore. You care deeply and overthink everything. You find yourself stuck replaying patterns or caught in a loop of shame and self-doubt. Or maybe you have a difficult relationship with your feelings. You consider leaving before anyone else does. I work with people who are tired of just surviving. My approach is shaped by Interpersonal Neurobiology and Attachment theory and by the belief that your body remembers, you matter, and it’s okay to never get over some things.

Whenever you're not willing to feel an emotion, your choices and behaviours stem from your avoidance of that emotion. Your resistance runs your life & is directly contrary to your overall best interest. Similarly, traumas are incidents unable to be completed. The energies of these traumas are stored in our body until they can be released. I assist you to unlock these traumas by reactivating the emotional responses to these trapped emotions, which unlocks the synapses in the brain, allowing new positive emotional learning to replace the old trauma. Your energy field then becomes less dense, & a new sense of freedom takes hold.

I offer a compassionate, safe and confidential environment that supports the exploration and expression of feelings, thoughts, beliefs and circumstances that may be having an adverse effect on emotional well-being and quality of life. Sometimes we just need a space to be still and reflect, a space where we feel accepted, understood and supported in gaining a deeper awareness into why we behave the way we do, or that can offer us an alternative perspective on challenging life situations. My aim is to support you in making sense of your life and working with you in moving to where you would like to be.

I help young people explore emotions through play, art and CBT approaches, a gentle, attuned space where children and teens can explore difficult feelings, develop emotional awareness and build healthier, more resilient ways of coping.
It is not necessarily our circumstances that provide us with challenges but how we approach them. Our past can be useful in understanding our present but it does not determine our future. I work both on developing your resilience and the capacity to cope with your challenges as well as providing you with the skills needed to turn them into opportunities.

Who is play therapy for?
Play therapy is generally targeted to children between the ages of 3 and 11 who have social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties. Play therapy has also been found helpful for children who have experienced physical or emotional abuse or witnessed atrocities. Play therapy is also often recommended for children who are undergoing major medical procedures or who are suffering from chronic illness; many children’s hospitals are equipped to offer play therapy on-site. Play therapy is also sometimes used for adults; creative writing, music, and art are expressive forms that can all be adapted for therapeutic purposes.

Why do people need play therapy?
Children often do not have the language skills or words to know or to express what is troubling them. Yet they often spontaneously draw or use playthings to depict scenarios that reflect problems in their everyday life. Play therapy provides children with an array of objects and play situations to act out their feelings or experiences so that therapists can get a clear picture of what children might be struggling with and help them find solutions. In addition, play therapists are skilled at helping children understand their inner experience and find words for them, necessary steps toward helping children learn to control their own behaviour and come up with solutions to problems they encounter.

What happens in play therapy?
A child enters a comfortable playroom where they are free to choose the objects they want to play with. The play therapist will typically observe how they play with the toys—whether a sandbox, puppets, dolls and action figures, trucks, costumes, drawing and painting materials, or more—because such play provides clues to a child’s family and social relationships, difficulties they are encountering in the world, and what going on inside themselves. Sometimes the therapist may ask the child to use the play objects to tell a story about their family. Using the same instruments of play, therapists can help children discover more advantageous ways of thinking and behaving.

What kinds of problems do play therapists treat?
Play therapy can help children who display destructive or self-destructive impulses; children who seem angry, sad, or fearful; children who experience frequent social, emotional, family, or school difficulty. Play therapy is often of value to children who have experienced a loss or distressing family experience, who are regularly exposed to family conflict, or who have been physically or emotionally abused. Play therapy can help children who are perpetrators of bullying as well as those who are targets of bullying. It helps children learn to identify their feelings, to express them in constructive ways, and to regulate them so they can get on with the business of development.

How long does play therapy last?
Play therapy sessions may last for 30 to 45 minutes, and they usually occur weekly for about 20 sessions. Each session is tailored to the individual child and the kinds of problems they are struggling with. Play that is highly repetitive often indicates a problem requiring further exploration. Therapists typically measure progress through session-to-session changes in play behaviour.
