Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Counselling in Southwark
This inner conflict can show up as anxiety, depression, OCD, intrusive thoughts, low self-worth, or a general sense of feeling stuck and unfulfilled.
I specialise in OCD and "Pure O", combining first-line ERP with ACT, while integrating psychodynamic approaches to identify deeper relational patterns that may be driving obsessive symptoms. Having lived experience of OCD myself, I offer a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space to explore these struggles.

I work with capable adults navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, insomnia and burnout — the overthinking, the avoidance, the loops you can't think your way out of.
My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping you relate differently to anxious thoughts, self-criticism, and difficult emotions. As an Integrative Psychotherapist (MBACP), I tailor every session to you. I lecture in ACT at Canterbury Christ Church University and hold clinical roles at The Priory Group and St Barnabas Hospice.

You might be living with anxiety that follows you everywhere, or a low confidence that holds you back even when you know you're capable. Perhaps you've recently received an ADHD diagnosis, or suspect you might be neurodivergent and you're finally making sense of a lifetime of feeling different, exhausted, or not quite enough. Whatever brings you here, one thing is likely true: you are far kinder to everyone around you than you are to yourself.

I provide an open, warm and confidential space which enables clients to explore issues, which may have been difficult to deal with alone. I view therapy as an individual process and a journey of self discovery that create an opportunity to become aware of inner conflicts and unhelpful patterns of behaviour. I recognise that there is not one approach to therapy that will suit everyone. Hence, I incorporate integrative approach that means I can adapt therapy to each client and their individual needs. I can offer help and have worked with people struggling with a range of conditions including depression, anxiety or adjustment.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Counsellors
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, and sertraline, among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
