You might be feeling stuck or wondering whether you've made the right decision. You might not even know what the right decision is. You might even want to explore who it is that you are, why you do the things that you do, or why you're in the situation that you're in. If that is you, then consider what it is that counselling and psychotherapy might be able to do in helping you to consider all these questions that you might have about yourself and your situation.

Are you struggling with intense emotions that you find difficult to manage? Perhaps you've noticed patterns of behaviour that don't serve you or your relationships? Maybe you're finding yourself confused by what you feel and unclear on how to do things differently? My clients approach me for a variety of reasons - there's no "right" reason to seek therapy. Whatever difference you want to feel in your life, whether it's exploration and growth, or finding strategies for change, my role will be to meet you authentically, and be beside you in your journey through whatever you choose to bring to therapy, making it safe to step forward.

I’m Pedro, a BACP-registered counsellor offering diversity-aware therapy in English and Spanish, online across the UK and in person in London Bridge (SE1) and Greenwich (SE10). My work is LGBTQIA+ affirming, ADHD/neurodivergence-aware and trauma-informed. I support adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, shame, low self-worth, relationship difficulties and identity questions. A lot of my work explores the emotional cost of adapting, hiding or people-pleasing. This may connect with being LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, from a migrant or multicultural background, or a man who has not had much space for vulnerability.

I originally trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the 1980's and then worked as an actor for many years: over the last 22+ years my life started to take a different turn and I now enjoy working as a counsellor with individual clients. As an Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor I draw together different approaches whilst offering therapy with soul - looking beyond the immediate problem, or symptom to work in ways that honour each client's deeper journey. For me therapy has meant a chance to revisit old stories and beliefs whilst gaining fresh insights and understandings.

Has life begun to feel like a constant cycle of getting through the day, only to wake up and do it all again? Does your mind feel stuck on repeat, replaying conversations, worrying about what comes next, or struggling to switch off even when you are exhausted? Has work started to feel like a prison of stress and anxiety, while people and social situations leave you irritated, drained, or wanting to be left alone? Over time, this can begin to affect relationships, confidence, boundaries, and how you feel about yourself.

I see clients (and supervisees) from all backgrounds and specialise in working with men, or women seeking to better understand difficult relationships with men. I work with many issues including stress, feeling sad, low self-esteem, loss and relationship difficulties. My clients often want to change something about themselves and need a place to feel comfortable, share their emotions and better understand their needs. Articulating emotions and needs can be a struggle at first for some and I am experienced in helping clients to open up over time. My work is with individual clients online or in person, both short and long term.

Struggling? Exhausted? Feel like you're drowning behind closed doors? Not frivolous enough for AI therapy? Other therapists seem judgmental, don't get you, won't listen? With me you can talk about anything. I'll treat you with compassion, empathy, and care. I’m also forthright and candid, and much more tools-oriented than schools-oriented. I believe you're the expert in you - even if you're not yet aware of it - and my role is to help you find that, and bring my own holistic vision, experience, training, and expertise to the table. I'm the specialist to help you become the best possible, most fulfilled version of you, starting now.

I work with highly driven professionals, entrepreneurs and people in demanding roles, often in tech, finance, law, media and the arts. Many are thoughtful, reflective and used to holding things together externally, while privately feeling tense, stuck, burnt out, emotionally shut down, or caught in patterns they understand clearly but cannot seem to change.

I offer a warm, down-to-earth space for people who feel stuck, blocked or exhausted by patterns they can't shift: anxiety, depression, relationships, identity, or the weight of a world that wasn't quite built for you. I work with LGBTQ+ people, creatives and neurodivergent adults, but you don't need a label to get in touch. Men who aren't sure therapy is for them are also welcome. As an integrative therapist I combine person-centred warmth with psychodynamic depth, helping you feel heard while making sense of how your past shapes your present. I'll be on your side, and push back when it seems useful, gently but genuinely.

I specialize in working with couples. Whether you’re navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, or feeling disconnected, counselling offers a space for both of you to explore challenges and create meaningful change together. Relationships are complex, shaped by shared history, individual experiences, and the way we respond to one another. Sometimes, uncovering patterns from the past can lead to powerful breakthroughs in the present. I also work with individuals, helping to address a wide range of issues. The act of naming and exploring a challenge in a safe, non-judgmental space can bring relief and open the door to lasting growth.

Men's Issues Counsellors
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
