Infidelity Counselling in Southwark, London

Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about understanding you.
You don’t need to be in crisis to talk. Therapy can be a space to feel seen, supported, and truly heard — especially if you’ve never had that before.
As a South Asian therapist, I understand how hard it can be to reach out, especially in cultures where mental health isn’t always openly spoken about.
If you're unsure where to start, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to do it alone either. I’m here when you’re ready.

The most important thing I can do for you is to help you understand yourself better, to know why you do the things you do and find certain situations difficult. I work with people who want to understand why they can't assert themselves, find enjoyment in life, make friends, recover from bereavement or the end of a relationship, why they get so angry, have addictions, obsessions and intrusive thoughts or why they don't know what to do about a partner who is controllling or abusive. Alternatively, I can offer EMDR, which is a treatment for trauma and other experiences from the recent or distant past which have adversely affected you.

My approach to counselling has been formed from my own experiences, I believe everyone has the capability to reach a place of peace and live a fulfilling life but to do so you must learn about yourself. This can be an uncomfortable process but one that I believe is worth it. My purpose is to support my clients on their journeys to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and to empower them to make the changes they want to align with the life and the person they want to be. I am passionate about enhancing others experience of life as I am of my own but with the awareness that these changes can only come from within.

I love my work and am blessed to be able to work with clients at a crossroads in their lives and help them break through current difficulties by understanding how ingredients in their past are obstructing their progress and their decision making. We work together to unlock unhelpful beliefs and find freedom from dynamics that are holding them back, at home and in the workplace, in relationships with partners, family members and friends. No problem is ever too small and it is often the ones you feel embarrassed to bring that are key to unlocking the problem.

Relationships are at the heart of a fulfilling life, whether in dating, with a partner, or within oneself. Yet, too often, disconnection, unspoken desires, unhelpful patterns of behaviour and emotional barriers stand in the way of deep and meaningful connections.
I help people move past these blocks, guiding them toward greater vitality, authenticity, and joy in their relationships by providing radical approval for the entirety of their desires and by supporting them to take inspired action towards the kind of person and the kind of partner they wish to be.

Undertaking psychotherapy can be daunting, especially nowadays, when so many different types of therapy are available. It can be overwhelming to make that decision. In my approach, I believe that each situation is unique. Through my experience of working with teenagers and their families, as well as adults in individual and group modalities and couples, I learned to develop a sensitive ear for my client’s needs. We all sometimes struggle due to external or internal pressures or a combination. However, I deeply believe that facing difficulties with compassion and an open mind can be liberating.

I have worked with people from different backgrounds suffering from anxieties and feelings of despair and depression. Self criticism and criticism towards others may lead to isolation and low self esteem. People may not understand their feelings or why similar patterns in relationships occur. Grief arising from a loss, such as a bereavement, may too evoke a wide range of difficult feelings making it hard to cope. Whilst the facts of the past cannot be changed, your story can become updated in therapy. This can help un-addressed difficulties feel more manageable. Consequently, therapy can be a catalyst for growth and healing.

I am an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor. I offer a confidential and safe space where we can think about what is troubling you in a non-judgemental setting. People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Life can throw upsetting things at us and sometimes we find ourselves affected by events more than we expect. Psychodynamic therapy provides an opportunity to discover the unconscious processes that drive our responses and behaviours. Once these processes are acknowledged, we have the choice of changing how we react. This can help us to feel better about ourselves and live a more fulfilling life.
