Together we can address difficulties such as anxiety, hyper-vigilance, depression, dissociation, intrusive thoughts, addiction, and related challenges.
My integrative approach draws from MBET, AEDP, ACT, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and IFS-informed practice, alongside somatic therapies. This supports deeper awareness of your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and internal processes, helping integrate mind and body in healing from trauma, attachment wounds, and addictive patterns.

The purpose of Psychotherapy is personal change. By exploring internal and external struggles with a qualified experienced professional, we work together to understand what might be getting in the way of your desired change, what might be creating difficulties and limitations. I am an experienced qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy offering in-depth and short-term therapeutic treatment to adults. I previously worked in the business sector for over 15 years, most recently in the development of psychology based performance solutions within organisations

Most of us have compulsions and addictions to varying degrees, and recognise the feelings of frustration and stuckness that accompany them.
These thoughts and behaviours often begin from a sense that it's not OK to be you. I offer an open-minded space where, through talking and imagining, we'll explore not just who you are but who you'd like to be. Becoming aware of what has been keeping you in place, and exploring the alternatives that open up, you can recover a sense of agency over your life.

My work with anxiety, relationship issues and addiction often involves understanding what drives the cycle, recognising triggers, and exploring emotions and patterns beneath it.
People can get trapped between two painful positions: feeling powerless to change, or blaming themselves for not changing. Or both. And both create suffering. Something in life may no longer be working. You may feel stuck in patterns you can’t shift - anxiety, shame, low mood, compulsive habits, relationship difficulties or a sense of lost purpose. On the outside you may or may not seem to be coping, but inside you know you are not.

I work with anxiety, overthinking, and meaning. In London and online- across the UK and internationally. People usually come to therapy when something in their life has become difficult to sustain, even if it is not immediately clear why. This might involve anxiety, emotional disconnection, overthinking, burnout, or a more general sense that life has narrowed or lost direction. Many of the people I work with are outwardly functioning, but internally feel stuck in patterns they cannot easily shift — in how they think, relate, or respond to themselves. You do not need to arrive with a clear account of what is wrong.

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist. I have many years of experience working with a diverse range of people and whatever they choose to bring to their therapy. Are you feeling like it's time to change the patterns and behaviours that feel unhelpful and hinder your enjoyment of daily life? Working together, we can look at the past and the events in it which now inform your present. I work collaboratively, led by you, without judgement but with warmth and an open attitude. I believe in helping you feel seen and heard - really listened to, perhaps in a way you have not previously experienced.

You might also be navigating patterns that no longer serve you such as overworking, relying on substances, or constantly pushing yourself - coping strategies that may have once helped you get by but now leave you feeling depleted, stuck, or disconnected from yourself.
In therapy, we gently explore what drives your patterns and what your mind and body really need. Over time, you can feel lighter, calmer, and more in tune with yourself - discovering clarity, self-compassion, and a way of living that truly reflects who you are. You can build a life that feels meaningful, satisfying, and aligned with the person you want to be

Has life begun to feel like a constant cycle of getting through the day, only to wake up and do it all again? Does your mind feel stuck on repeat, replaying conversations, worrying about what comes next, or struggling to switch off even when you are exhausted? Has work started to feel like a prison of stress and anxiety, while people and social situations leave you irritated, drained, or wanting to be left alone? Over time, this can begin to affect relationships, confidence, boundaries, and how you feel about yourself.

I have practiced for many years at a family therapy/DA Charity under the supervision and mentorship of Dr Chris Newman. (Goverment adviser on family systemics and domestic abuse). This experience and knowledge has informed my private practice and has shown me, with the right guidance and support, we can feel differently about anything we have experienced.

I keep my fees low, because I am mindful of the current cost of living. My business is named NuVista (new view/Horizon) because it was born from my vision and indeed my own personal journey that counselling or talking therapy can give people a new view of life once they, with my help have explored and untangled the issues that are currently having a negative impact on your life or your work, your relationships or your family life, it could be your sexuality or even historical events that have been rendered unconscious or hidden and never spoken about. For me the goal or vision was to have a new outlook on life - a New View.

My philosophy is informed by my beliefs in people's capacity for change, in their resilience, and in their ability to find the answers for that feel right for them - to make their change.

What is the best therapy for addiction?
Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?
There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?
Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?
The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
