I am experienced in helping with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, alcohol related issues and relationship problems.
Couples counselling - relationships can be challenging and couples can drift into patterns of behaving and relating to each other that damage the intimacy and connection between them. It can be difficult to see what is happening from inside the relationship and counselling can help untangle confusion and offer a different perspective.

I help people with a broad range of difficulties, and have particular experience in relationship problems, anxiety, trauma, CPTSD, dissociation, bereavement, terminal or chronic illnesses, addictions, infertility, the effects on clients of the narcissistic and borderline behaviours of others, and adult ADHD.
My therapy approach is existential - paying attention to the client as a whole person, rather than a cluster of symptoms. To do this I work with you to understand your experience of the world, and uncover hidden feelings which are preventing you from living as your authentic self.

I can provide support for depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, bereavement, traumatic experiences, relationship difficulties, pregnancy, gender & sexuality, identity issues, performance anxiety, and career uncertainty.
Psychodynamic therapy is a deeper form of counselling. It is based on the idea that certain parts of our inner-selves can remain hidden in our unconscious. These hidden aspects have a profound impact on our feelings and behaviours — shaping our everyday lives and relationships with others.

My psychodynamic training involves tracing back and linking feelings and relationship challenges in the present.
I have extensive training including a Master's in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. My own experiences relating to family dynamics, a career in the mental health sector, motherhood, relationships and loss are reflected and undoubtedly beneficial in the way I work. Professionally, I have a breadth of counselling experience working with adolescents and adults who have sought therapy while grappling with a range of challenges impacting their lives including those grappling with fame and fortune. I have also worked extensively with family carers who can, for example, feel isolated, depressed, stressed, anxious, resentful or angry.

The relationship that we work on between us, in the therapeutic space, is what can make all the difference.
You are most probably working through a series of profiles, getting increasingly baffled. I feel your pain! I work with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, those facing an ending, or a new beginning, or sometimes those that just feel 'off' or lost. Therapy, and finding a safe space to explore your worries can be genuinely life changing: we can talk about your goals and expectations of therapy and your life. This space can help you to trust in yourself, and to empower you. I really believe in talking therapy and providing kinship. I have a special interest in grief and bereavement.

I believe that relationship dynamics in the past can have a significant impact on how we relate to others in our personal and professional life in the present.
I work with my clients by exploring the intersection of the past and present, looking at emotions, thoughts and behaviours to identify what might be contributing to presenting complaints. We can then challenge any unhelpful patterns together and create new healthier ones.  I'm trained in integrative talk therapy as well as EMDR.

I work with patients suffering from depression, anxiety and relationship issues.
Perhaps you are facing a crisis in your life, or have some ongoing difficulties you cannot seem to resolve. Maybe you are an individual or a couple experiencing problems in your relationships, bereavement or loss. Maybe it seems hard to cope with life's challenges. In these circumstances, it can be helpful to talk to someone who is not directly involved. You may have had therapy before and want to go deeper, possibly engage in twice weekly work. Coming for therapy can be an opportunity to think about your life now, what has shaped you and consider what you want for your future; a means of self development.

I’m a Clinical Psychologist, working with high achievers who struggle with high functioning anxiety, self-confidence and self-esteem, burnout, stress, and relationship difficulties.
My style in therapy is collaborative, engaging, straight forward, and not very formal. I don't take myself too seriously, can be slightly irreverent, and enjoy taking a creative and practical approach to problem solving. I use an integrative approach in therapy, which means I draw from a number of different theories, depending on what is most appropriate.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While the need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
