Sometimes aspects of our life can overwhelm us. Life events such as a bereavement, relationship/
family
issues, a job loss or isolation can leave us feeling fearful, stressed and unable to cope. We can also feel stuck in certain patterns that we wish to break free from. Talking about all these things can help to bring balance back into our lives and gain a new understanding of ourselves. I aim to make it possible for you to speak about things which you might not have put into words before and ask questions to help you with your thinking. Giving yourself the space to talk openly and be heard can bring about tremendous change within.

Having interned at the Child Institute of Mental Health in London; as well as in an adolescent rehabilitation centre in Dallas, TX specialising in addictions, adolescent sexual abuse and
family
systems; I offer that net and support in a non-judgemental environment.
A confidential, non-judgmental space where you can explore positive and challenging aspects of your life and any change you wish to explore or make. I have personal experience in sexual, physical, emotional and mental abuse; divorce; living with a Narcissist; step-parenting and living in an Ex-pat community. The approaches I predominantly use are Solution Focused, Bowenian Systemic approach, Brainspotting or Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP). All approaches work with clients, though I have found 'Walk and Talk' or EFP best for adolescents or those suffering with PTSD or Trauma, along with Brainspotting.

Are you feeling lost, anxious or lonely. Or you may feel deep sadness due to the loss of a loved one? These feelings can be overwhelming and cause you to become stuck. These feelings are perfectly normal and often having a safe confidential space to explore these emotions can provide much needed relief for you as the carrier. I understand your experience of the world is unique as an individual, and I will build my relationship with you based on your individual needs

I understand that deciding to start counselling and therapy can feel like a big step, from the start of therapy I encourage my clients to feel empowered through the therapy process. It may be that you've lost a loved one, experiencing
family
issues, relationship breakdown, struggling with anxiety or work-place stress. It's common to be experiencing a few of these life issues at the same time, which can lead to overwhelm and burnout. As a psychotherapist I aim to offer a tailored approach to each client in therapy sessions.

This can be true of any of our relationships, within friendship groups,
family
, and in the workplace.
Hi there. I provide face-to-face (from £68) or online counselling (from £55) with the first session free of charge. Together, we can work on helping you cope with what's going on in your life right now, and take time to explore how you might feel better about yourself. My approach is broadly 'psychodynamic', which means we pay close attention to the feelings and beliefs that we hold about ourselves and others, and which have typically taken shape at some earlier time in our lives. We can quickly become stuck in set ways of 'being me', without realising that all of us have a capacity to change in all kinds of unexpected ways.

These are some of the things people may be thinking or saying when they decide to seek professional support: "I experience awful feelings of panic." "I feel anxious a lot of the time. "I feel tearful a lot." "I can feel angry all day and it feels bad." "Life appears very confusing and complicated" I offer professional counselling, support and strategies to help you navigate your way through whatever your issues may be, already in the first session. I hold a professional psychotherapy diploma from the Human Givens Institute. This approach helped a
family
member with anxiety very much which is why I chose to train in it also.

Family Therapy Counsellors
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
