I support neurodiverse people with ADHD, dyslexia & autism, also their families & partners.
These are some of the things people may be thinking or saying when they decide to seek professional support: "I experience awful feelings of panic." "I feel anxious a lot of the time. "I feel tearful a lot." "I can feel angry all day and it feels bad." "Life appears very confusing and complicated" I offer professional counselling, support and strategies to help you navigate your way through whatever your issues may be, already in the first session. I hold a professional psychotherapy diploma from the Human Givens Institute. This approach helped a family member with anxiety very much which is why I chose to train in it also.

Relationships can impact our lives in many different ways.
The name of my practice, New Narratives Through Therapy, demonstrates how strongly I value the opportunity to help people to not only seek to understand the existing patterns within their relationships, but to be able to find ‘new narratives’ that allow for more satisfying, supportive and enjoyable connections with others, in couple or family relationships.

There are times in our lives when we feel that no one understands or is interested in what is going on for us. We can be left feeling misunderstood and uncared for. Talking about what is going on for us can be very difficult because it is not easy to find someone we can trust. I offer a person-centred approach but also use a holistic approach to therapy, this aids with focuses on an individual’s self-worth and values. I believe that being valued as a person, without the fear of being judged can help an individual to accept who they are and help reconnect with themselves with the people and things that are precious to them.

Having faced my own challenges and formed an authentic relationship with my therapist, I experienced first hand the power of an empathic, caring, non judgemental and safe space to explore my feelings.
My approach is person centred and humanistic, I'm also sometimes called a talking therapist. I aim to provide you with a safe, private and peaceful place to explore what is troubling you. Rather than give advice we work collaboratively for you to find positive ways forward.

I work with anxiety, trauma, panic attacks, relationship problems and difficulties that occur in coping with everyday life.
Although psychosynthesis is a 'talking therapy', its more than just talking. I work with a number of techniques depending on the client's needs and presenting issues. Most importantly I hold a 'bifocal' view of my clients; I am not only considering what they are presenting, I am also looking for the positive thing that is emerging from their disturbance.

I can support you with various issues such as anxiety, low mood, depression, panic, stress, relationship problems and interpersonal difficulties, or any other life changes and goals you wish to achieve.
As well as my professional skills, knowledge & experience in the tool-kit; in my view the most important thing about therapy is that we form and maintain an honest, safe and authentic client - therapist relationship. When this is established the real work begins - and change follows!

When we meet I will discuss what sort of therapy will be best for you . I am a therapist who listens with intelligence and compassion, but I am not one who just sits in silence. I am sensitive to how difficult it can be to share personal issues. Sometimes the work will be challenging, but the experience of being heard and understood can be very powerful.

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
