I offer individuals and couples a warm, supportive, confidential setting to talk about emotional difficulties which may be troubling them in their lives and relationships.
Relationships come in all shapes and sizes, and I encourage couples to value what they have achieved together while addressing current challenges. Some of the work involves looking at assumptions that have gone unexplored between partners. Loss and regret, if approached reflectively, can be the precursor to an enhanced enjoyment of life and relationships.

My special interest is working with couples and families using systemic training as well as Terry Neal, Ester Perel and Dr Sue Johnson's Emotionally Focused Therapy.
I have worked in the NHS for 25 years, across a variety of settings and am currently undertaking an MA in Family Therapy. Neuro-biology and Somatic psychology are also areas that inform my practice. This includes helping individuals to understand choices around mental health medication, how the body and mind are 'one' and are both informed by the 'fight or flight' response, attachment styles and survival strategies. I use NVR (Non-Violent Resolution) to support families and young people with challenging behaviours.

I work extensively with men, and women struggling with sexual issues such as low sexual desire, performance anxiety, erectile dysfunction, vaginismus and sex/porn addiction as well as couples looking to fix relationship problems which include communication difficulties, mismatched libido, conflict and betrayal.
To help you make impactful changes in your sex and relationship life, I use a holistic and practical approach to therapy. As a sexologist, I combine tools such as coaching, NLP, hypnotherapy and mind-body connection to help you work through blockages. I have an engaging approach - it's not just showing up to sessions. Change only happens by doing the work.

I work closely with people on their unique goals, including: building self esteem, working with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, career transitions and limiting behaviours.
Beyond the basics of talk-therapy, sessions may include: mindfulness, inner child work, or exploring your mind-body connection. I also like to work with our various 'parts' and how they function (IFS). My role is to help illuminate what limiting beliefs might be holding you back. I can offer you a supportive, confidential and encouraging ear.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
