I offer a service to children, adolescents, and young adults to allow them to begin to understand and explore how their past experiences have impacted on their lives, to be able to regulate their emotions and behaviours in order to cope with life’s challenges. Often the problems experienced are related to or are the result of past traumas or even just finding it hard to cope with life generally with all its pressures and difficulties. I can also see families and parents who can sometimes struggle to understand the problems facing them as a family unit. I am offering a safe and non-judgemental space, where we can begin to understand

Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or emotionally exhausted after coping alone for a long time. They may be struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, or relationship difficulties, or navigating life as a neurodivergent person. Some may be exploring identity or LGBTQ+ experiences. However, they are all looking for a safe, non-judgemental space where they feel truly heard, seen, and valued. Their hopes are to heal, build confidence, improve mental wellbeing, and develop a kinder, more compassionate relationship with themselves, and in turn live their lives happier and to their full potential again.

Life can be incredibly heavy, and sometimes the ways we’ve learned to cope just aren't enough anymore. Whether you are navigating the suffocating fog of depression, the constant hum of anxiety, or the complex layers of identity and trauma, I am here to hold space for you. Our journey begins by gently identifying the specific hurdles you are facing. Then, we will create a personalised treatment plan—one designed specifically to help you reclaim your life and feel like "you" again. I believe therapy should be more than just talk; it should lead to tangible change. Many of my clients notice a significant lifting of their symptom.

I don't believe that there is one method of psychotherapy that suits everyone. I believe in adapting my way of working for each client I meet. You may feel that you want to work short-term on a specific aspect of your life. You may feel that you want to take time to look back on your early life experiences or you may not know where to start or where you are going. Whatever your situation is, I will do my best to see the world as you do and, where possible, offer you an alternative perspective. I believe the same is true for children and using sand tray and art materials I allow children to process their emotions through play.

My work includes one to one and couples therapy. Face to face is preferred, but I can also offer sessions via phone or online. At present, I can only do face 2 face to clients in the Hull or London areas. Working together, we can explore your felt thoughts, feelings and emotions that may be prompting behaviours/ reactions that impact your everyday. Additionally, we can work to seek clarity, and sometimes even acceptance around specific situations. Exploring issues that seem a little overwhelming, with the goal of giving you back that sense of control you may have felt you’ve lost.

The reasons behind people seeking therapy are vast. For some, there may be a specific question; for others, it may be the desire to understand some part of themselves that they have been struggling to grasp for some time. We all experience times of difficulty and struggle, and sometimes we may find that familiar ways of coping no longer seem to help, or we notice our patterns with others no longer serve us to feel safe and secure. Therapy is designed to create a safe space, with no agenda, so that we can think carefully about ourselves within the context of our lives to explore understanding and change.

I’m a relational art therapist who supports students, young adults, couples and individuals seeking a deeper connection with themselves. Many of my clients come to therapy during times of transition, stress, or uncertainty — when emotions feel overwhelming or difficult to express. In our sessions, art becomes a safe and meaningful way to explore what words cannot fully capture.

I'm an accredited integrative counsellor, trained to listen and support you as we look at what is keeping you where you are and look at what you’d like to change. I have helped clients with issues such as depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, loss, trauma and also helped clients who have wanted someone to hear what they are currently living through – for example, relationship difficulties or not feeling like themselves any more. Maybe you're feeling more anxious than usual, maybe life is not feeling as you'd like. Once you have an awareness of what's happening for you, we can explore your choices for changing things.

Hi, I'm Olivia and I am a qualified MBACP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor. Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how you ended up feeling this way? Perhaps you’re functioning on the outside, but inside you feel anxious, low, disconnected or quietly struggling. Maybe life looks “fine” on paper, yet something doesn’t feel right, or you are at a point of transition and questioning who you are, what you want, or where you’re heading next. Therapy together will help you to understand why you feel the way you do and build a life that reflects who you truly are, in a respectful, supportive and confidential environment.

I am Relate trained specialising in Relationship and Sex Therapy. In order to keep our relationships healthy we need to attend to them to ensure they remain respectful, trusting, sexual and happy. Because of the busyness of day to day life, we can easily disconnect from our partners without realising it leading to a lack of communication, conflict, affairs, and dissatisfaction. When married, or when children are involved, these problems become even more complex. It might even be that since the country's lockdown, you are now realising there are issues in your relationship. Now could be a good time to resolve these.

Welcome to a safe place to talk. There are many reasons why people reach out for help. It may be connected with relationship difficulties, feeling lonely, suffering a bereavement, experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, struggling with depression, trauma, anger, low self-esteem, or work issues. Sometimes there is nothing specific to name. I am a qualified, registered and experienced therapist, holding a degree in psychology and I have been professionally trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I am a member of the professional bodies UKCP and FPC.

Are you feeling stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, or painful memories that seem to shape your present? You don’t have to navigate it alone. Whether you’re coping with anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, therapy can be a powerful space for healing and growth. In my work, I help individuals uncover the deeper emotional and relational patterns that influence how they think, feel, and connect with others. My approach draws on psychodynamic therapy to explore how past experiences shape your present, while integrating practical tools from CBT to support lasting change.

Self-Harming Counsellors
How does therapy for self-harm work?
A person may turn to self-injury so that they can distract themselves from their stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances. Therapy can address the cause of an individual’s suffering. A therapist can help a person understand why they may want to self-harm and help the person learn new methods of coping. A person may have poor emotion regulation, and treatment such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is helpful for breaking this behaviour. In addition, treatment such as dialectical behaviour therapy can help a person manage their tolerance of distress.

Which therapies are best for self-harm?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioural, dialectical behaviour, psychodynamic, and mentalisation-based therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioural and dialectical behaviour therapies are common approaches for people who have painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual cope with distress, regulate emotions, and manage impulsive urges.

Does the tendency to self-harm mean the person is suicidal?
Having this urge does not mean the individual suffers from suicidal ideation. People who want to self-injure look to distract or alleviate themselves from the pain they are experiencing. People with suicidal tendencies want to end life altogether. However, this does not mean a person with the intent to self-harm will not attempt suicide.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for self-harm?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Clients may see improvement within 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, maybe, a six-month period. People, especially those with co-occurring conditions like depression and anxiety, may need to continue therapy for up to 12 to 18 months.
