Many people come to therapy when stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, or long-standing emotional patterns begin to feel difficult to manage alone. I offer online therapy for adults across the UK, providing a confidential and structured space to explore what feels stuck, overwhelming, or unresolved. You may be self-aware and thoughtful, yet notice that insight has not led to the clarity or change you want.

Life itself is complex and through no fault of our own brings up many challenges that can lead to worry, anxiety, self-criticism, stress and low-esteem to name a few. As a clinical psychologist, I am flexible in my approach and work with a range of difficulties. I strongly believe therapy can be such a rewarding experience and the importance of creating a safe space in offering a non-judgemental and compassionate place for a person to feel heard and understood as we work together towards what is important to you. As such, issues relating to past or present, it is a space to create self-awareness and further move towards your values.

I am Relate trained specialising in Relationship and Sex Therapy. In order to keep our relationships healthy we need to attend to them to ensure they remain respectful, trusting, sexual and happy. Because of the busyness of day to day life, we can easily disconnect from our partners without realising it leading to a lack of communication, conflict, affairs, and dissatisfaction. When married, or when children are involved, these problems become even more complex. It might even be that since the country's lockdown, you are now realising there are issues in your relationship. Now could be a good time to resolve these.

I use a holistic, integrated approach to cognitive and mindfulness-based therapies, drawing on elements of DBT, CBT, and ACT, alongside psychodynamic, person-centred and reflective work to get to the core of challenges and our understanding of ourselves.
I work (online UK wide) and F2F (Ldn) with twenty/thirty somethings . I focus on anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, impulsivity and low mood - addressing the challenges of growing up online and offline in today's complex world. This includes social, relational and professional pressures, as well as our relationship to substances and identity issues for adults 18 and above. I have experience with creatives, students, familial challenges and growing pains of adulting. To note: I support many neurodivergent clients, and adapt my practice collaboratively alongside them (ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia).

As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw on EMDR, CBT, mindfulness and relational approaches to shape therapy around you.
You may be living with anxiety or trauma alongside neurodiversity (ADHD, autism) or the emotional shifts linked to PMDD or perimenopause. Perhaps you have learned to mask, adapt or push through, appearing capable while feeling overwhelmed within. Recurring relationship patterns, burnout or self-criticism can follow. Therapy offers a steady space to understand your nervous system, your history and the patterns shaping your present

Many difficulties people bring to therapy don’t stem from conscious thought, but from how past experience lives on in the mind and body. Early or overwhelming experiences, along with beliefs shaped by social and cultural conditioning, can form patterns of reactivity and ways of behaving that operate outside awareness. Yet these patterns show up here and now, where they can be met, explored, and responded to differently. In therapy, we work with this living process so new understanding, choice, and more integrated change across safety, belonging, authenticity, value, freedom, and meaning can emerge, not just cognitive insight.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Counsellors
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behaviour through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviours and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioural habits.
