I have particular interest and experience in working with childhood trauma,
family
(including sibling) issues, disability and chronic health conditions.
You may be feeling stuck or overwhelmed by specific experiences or circumstances, or you may be unsure why you don’t feel happy. Perhaps this feeling that something is wrong is recent or you might have been struggling with it for a long time. Our environment, and the ways that we are seen by other people, can leave us feeling pressurised, dismissed or misunderstood. Together, we can work to explore and understand your experience, allowing you to process some of the painful feelings which have left you feeling distressed. Working sensitively at your pace, we can explore how you feel without judgment.

Online psychotherapist with an eclectic and inventive approach. Practicing Internal
Family
Systems Therapy (IFS) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I believe that people already have within themselves what they need in order to overcome their struggles. All it takes is a bit of guidance and someone to ask the right questions. My wish for my clients is that they find the inner freedom to live the life that they want. I mostly work with expats, travelers, digital nomads, burners - I can relate to the lifestyle and can appreciate the need for flexibility and rescheduling sessions when necessary, however, anyone is welcome.

I understand that deciding to start counselling and therapy can feel like a big step, from the start of therapy I encourage my clients to feel empowered through the therapy process. It may be that you've lost a loved one, experiencing
family
issues, relationship breakdown, struggling with anxiety or work-place stress. It's common to be experiencing a few of these life issues at the same time, which can lead to overwhelm and burnout. As a psychotherapist I aim to offer a tailored approach to each client in therapy sessions.

Hey! What brings you here? What hurts? What are your struggles? What keeps you stuck? Is it a relationship with a loved one? A parent, a child, a partner or a friend? Is it depression, overwhelming feelings of sadness, loss of joy, sleepless nights, no desire to get out of bed, avoiding friends or
family
members? Is it anxiety or panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, constantly worrying, creating worst scenarios? Is it a sense of not feeling good enough, comparing yourself to others in a negative light, second guessing your actions, feeling judged, having a sense that your existence is a waste of time?

Life can throw us off course, from time to time we can all feel overwhelmed, confused, stuck, frightened or alone. Counselling gives the opportunity to talk through feelings, thoughts and worries in a safe, non-judgmental space. It is not always easy to talk to our
family
and friends, the therapeutic relationship offers a confidential and consistent space to share and work through the problems we can find difficult to bring up with others.

Reaching out for help can be hard but it is an important step in the right direction towards living your life fully. Sometimes trying to navigate through life alone can be confusing and speaking to friends or
family
can often be too difficult, this is why talking to a neutral professional counsellor can provide you with the support you need. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore the areas of your life that you are struggling with. By exploring your thoughts, feelings and behaviours of the past and present I can help you gain better self-awareness and overcome the obstacles weighing you down.

Joint sessions (
family
, friends, partners) available.
Believing in the uniqueness of each person and their circumstances at any one moment in time, I am committed to a pluralistic approach which acknowledges and values the notion that what might work in one session, might not be successful in another, and that what might be appropriate for one client, might feel uncomfortable for someone else. Our relationship will, therefore, be based on the premise that your therapy will be the outcome of the collaboration between you and I, and will reflect your shifting needs within sessions, and from one session to another, as together we travel beyond the boundary of your previous thoughts.

This can be true of any of our relationships, within friendship groups,
family
, and in the workplace.
Hi there. I provide face-to-face (from £68) or online counselling (from £55) with the first session free of charge. Together, we can work on helping you cope with what's going on in your life right now, and take time to explore how you might feel better about yourself. My approach is broadly 'psychodynamic', which means we pay close attention to the feelings and beliefs that we hold about ourselves and others, and which have typically taken shape at some earlier time in our lives. We can quickly become stuck in set ways of 'being me', without realising that all of us have a capacity to change in all kinds of unexpected ways.

Family Therapy Counsellors
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
