Currently working within the private and public education system I work daily with young children and adolescents with a wide range of needs from different backgrounds and cultures, I absolutely love my work and find working collaboratively is also so rewarding for the client as they get that sense of accomplishment.
I’ve also been working at the South London and Maudsley Hospital for some years now, with it being one of the most accomplished places in London focusing on the mental health of our patients who have issues from self harm, suicidal tendencies, anxiety, eating disorders, anger management, addiction, low self esteem PTSD and many other mental health disorders

I specialise in trauma and work with children, adults and couples.
I offer a compassionate, safe and confidential environment that supports the exploration and expression of feelings, thoughts, beliefs and circumstances that may be having an adverse effect on emotional well-being and quality of life. Sometimes we just need a space to be still and reflect, a space where we feel accepted, understood and supported in gaining a deeper awareness into why we behave the way we do, or that can offer us an alternative perspective on challenging life situations. My aim is to support you in making sense of your life and working with you in moving to where you would like to be.

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches complimented with a creative style of working which can be tailored to best meeting the needs of an adult or the needs of a child.
Counselling can help you to explore and work through emotional difficulties you may be experiencing that could be affecting your thoughts and behaviours. It is a space for you to share things that you may be finding difficult to talk to your friends and family about. These difficulties may be from your past that are now causing problems in your present or from a more recent trauma you have experienced in your life such as a relationship break-up, loss of someone close to you or difficulties with getting to sleep or sleep not feeling like sleep anymore, but feeling more like an escape.

The world facing our children and young people today is an extremely complicated one.
My approach to child and adolescent anxiety therapy is first to create an environment in which they feel happy to engage in the process in a meaningful way. Anxiety must be broken down into two key areas, the physical symptoms and the psychological ones. . Training young people to master their minds is a powerful tool with long term benefits.

Child Counsellors

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?

Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How long are sessions with child therapists?

Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.

How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?

The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?

A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
