I can help with a number of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, loss, relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma recovery, suicidal ideation, narcissistic personality disorder, eating disorders and addiction.
Beginning therapy and finding a therapist can be a daunting process, although just taking the first step of reaching out to one is the most courageous step. I offer a confidential safe space - either in person on online - to talk about your concerns or anything which is currently troubling you at the same time and day each week. The regularity of sessions and the relationship between client and therapist which develops is part of the journey of healing that therapy can provide. I am a fully qualified and accredited psychotherapist with experience of working with people to help them heal and feel better about themselves.

I believe that loss is central to many of our issues.
My training has at its core a person centred philosophy, which means that I listen without judgement and believe that every person has the ability to grow. Together we will strive to find the answers that you hold within yourself. I believe that clients themselves are constantly evolving and adapting, feeding from past experience and present stimulation.

I offer both short & long term therapy - as well as offering general support, I specialise in oncology, palliative care & bereavement.
I work relationally with the clients I see, aiming to build a shared understanding of their difficulties. Using integrative techniques (including evidence based psychodynamic, existential, humanistic & cognitive behavioural modalities) I focus on encouraging individuals/couples to identify their existing challenges, build an understanding of themselves & their situation, & reflect on why they may feel the way they do. Through this process it is possible to build long term resilience & a more robust sense of self, having identified patterns of relating to others. This includes developing skills & techniques for coping in the future.

I have worked extensively with clients who experience professional "burn out", relationship issues, bereavement and loss.
I work primarily with a form of CBT called Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT). This works on your rigid demands and core beliefs which are often unrecognised as the root of your emotional problems. As an Integrative therapist, I will use other counselling and therapy techniques where they will be of benefit to you.

My main areas of expertise include but are not limited to; bereavement, infertility and miscarriage, relationship issues, parenthood and how it intersects with one's own childhood, and low self-esteem and confidence (which can come from a myriad of experiences).
I am a warm and perceptive therapist who will work with you to make sense of what you're struggling with. Therapy is a unique space. It's a place that's different from our relationships with family and friends and can therefore offer the opportunity to explore feelings and experiences that can be difficult to talk about or process in our day to day lives. Engaging in therapy can help you to make sense of your feelings and how they impact who you are, your confidence, and your sense of self. I offer a safe and collaborative space to help you process and understand what's going on for you.

Bereavement Counsellors
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
