We explore the ways in which sex may be impacting or affecting your life in a safe, non-judgemental space.
I provide a space in which to build trust, to allow your mind to go to places you may not have felt comfortable to before. If coming as part of a couple then I work in way that allows both people to feel heard and validated whilst working to bring the two (or more) of you together - if that’s what you are here to do.

Do you feel frightened that your world might fall apart if you look at your sexuality or gender?
Imagine feeling less anxious and able to live your life peacefully. To know that you’re normal and that these feelings are not something to be scared of. That there is someone you can talk to. I have over 40 years’ life experience of being a member of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as working with heterosexual people and been a counsellor for 7.

I believe that sex, intimacy, and love are skills we get to learn and practice.
My intention as your therapist is to both witness you and challenge existing dynamics and beliefs that may not be serving you anymore. All of my training as an integrative therapist and relationship coach are available to you in our sessions. This means we can work exploratively, creatively or more pragmatically - depending on what would best support you. At present, I am only taking on new individual clients as I am at capacity for work with couples. I have day time and early evening availability only, my evenings have a waitlist. I work Monday - Friday and offer sliding scale pricing.

I work with people from all backgrounds and walks of life, although most often I work with clients who fall into the category of gender, sexuality or relationship diverse (GSRD), whether that means someone is kinky, polyamorous, a sex worker, queer (or a combination!).
I work in an integrative way. This means I pull from a variety of different therapeutic models, including humanistic, person-centred and existential. I also work through a GSRD lens - for example, I believe that everyone (regardless of relationship style) can benefit from the skills developed through polyamory (for example communication).

I’m a qualified Relationship & Sex Therapist.
I support individuals in gaining deeper insight into their internal world, their patterns, defences, and emotional responses, so they can begin to shift unhelpful cycles and move towards a more connected, fulfilling way of living. Often, this involves exploring your relationship with yourself, and how these impact your relationship with others

I work with a range of issues including: anxiety, addiction, depression, chemsex, gender identity, gender dysphoria and transitioning, pain and chronic illness, psychosexual issues, sexuality and sexual identity, suicidality and self-harm.
I’m interested in what works. For you. So I take a pluralistic, integrative approach and don’t limit myself to one particular way of working. Whether you’re seeing me for counselling, schema-based therapy or psychosexual therapy, I'll tailor my approach to suit your needs. And it’s the relationship between you and I which will be central to the work. Because I’m not a friend, colleague or family member, you can think the unthinkable and speak the unspeakable in a judgement-free space. You can rely on me to be honest with you, and bring into your awareness your blind spots, and things on the edge of your awareness you might missing.

Many people struggle in silence with sexual concerns—whether it's loss of desire, difficulties with arousal or orgasm, painful sex, sexual compulsivity, or shame around sexuality.
I’m a counsellor and a trainee psychosexual therapist, offering a warm, confidential space to explore issues around sex, intimacy, relationships, and identity. I bring experience from my earlier work with gambling addictions and general counselling, which deepened my understanding of how our behaviours, bodies, and emotions are often closely linked.

Experiencing an issue with sex or sexuality can be enormously upsetting and damaging to self esteem.
I welcome you to share your uncensored-self and express feelings or thoughts that might feel difficult to share in other areas of your life. We may look into your past in order to unpack and organise what has led you to this point, but I am equally focused on what you experience in the present and would like from the future.

Sex Therapy Counsellors

Who is sex therapy for?

Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?

Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?

People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?

Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
