I work with couples and individuals and specialise in sex and relationships therapy.
I will meet you with respect and will provide a space in which you can feel seen, heard and validated. I will help you to understand the impact of early relationships, attachment, and other trauma. I will support you in gently unpacking complex relationship dynamics and lovingly meeting the parts of you that feel hurt or ashamed.

I work with both individuals and couples, offering a safe, non-judgemental space to explore whatever is on your mind.
With 15+ years as a counsellor I can offer a warm and welcoming environment to explore your concerns. It is difficult to sit with a stranger and talk about personal things, and I understand that it takes time for trust to grow. I can promise a non judgemental and accepting space and as much time as you need to figure things out.

You Deserve a space where your mind can rest and grow. I support adults and adolescents navigating overwhelm and major life transitions, including divorce and work related stress. My approach blends CBT with narrative and trauma informed therapy, helping you understand the patterns shaping your thoughts, emotions and relationships. Together well built clarity confidence and a renewed connection to who you are- not who the world expects you to be.

I like to help people get back in touch with their intentions, purpose and goals in life. So for somebody who seeks out my help I will walk with them on a path of rediscovering the miracle that life can be, even though there may be obstacles we first need to overcome. I recommend a minimum of 5 sessions to start with and we reassess after each block of 5.

People come to therapy for many reasons: stress that has quietly built over time, anxiety that’s hard to settle, patterns in relationships that keep repeating, grief that still aches, or a sense that life feels heavier or flatter than it should. You may be managing well on the outside, yet privately on the inside something may feel off kilter. Therapy offers a space to think and feel without judgement or performance. And a confidential space to understand what is happening within you.

Marriage Counselling

How does marriage counseling work?

Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?

Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?

Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?

Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
