I am a qualified systemic psychotherapist, accredited by UKCP, BACP registered, with over ten years' experience supporting people. I use a combination of systemic approaches, including narrative therapy, to understand you and your family ( family considered as a broader term, as opposed to a ‘nuclear’ family, who you consider as family) within wider contexts. I hope to create a safe and calm therapeutic space for us to reflect upon what influences your experiences of the world. I also hope to support you through any dilemmas or difficulties you are experiencing. I offer individual, couples and family therapy.

Most people choose therapy at a time when they are experiencing a “crises in meaning”, “crises in ego” or "crises in relationship". This is a call to action. Whether the struggle is to do with a relationship, depression, anxiety or adjustment to change, the person has a desire to find resolution or relief. This is a necessary process in the path toward psychological maturity, humility and self-acceptance. Therapy facilitates this process. I am a senior psychologist, in practice since 2005. I am trained as a Child & Family Mediator and completed a specialisation in Transpersonal Psychology which informs my approach to therapy.

Some of the problems I work with are around grief/loss, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, betrayal, family and relationship issues, identity, stress, secondary trauma, loneliness, psychosomatic related illnesses, racial issues, addiction, women’s issues, childhood issues, coping skills, life transitions and many more.
I have worked within fostering and adoption, Couple and family Counselling, Bereavement and Youth Counselling. My experience comes from having worked within a variety of family and child settings, a counselling service for young people, a hospice as a bereavement counsellor, and supporting couples in their relationships. I work with families who foster and the secondary trauma that they can also experience. Although I have been trained in the psychodynamic approach, I work using other models to best suit and help individuals explore and become aware of blocks in their lives, working towards making changes.

I have over 10 years experience in helping clients with a wide range of issues including stress and anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts and coping with grief and loss.
You may be struggling with overwhelming emotions and have various ways of coping, which are not helping. It might be because of a current relationship or difficult relationships in the past. You may have suffered childhood abuse or been bullied at school. Perhaps you are struggling to cope with work pressures and are experiencing stress and anxiety. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.

Something isn’t quite right. It may be that you can’t stop yourself from worrying. Or you are compulsively avoiding things (places, people, certain situations). Perhaps you find yourself flying into a sudden, uncontrollable, panic. It may be that you are feeling down: you can’t shake the sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness in your life. You may be feeling worthless and guilty too. It could be your relationships that aren’t working (partner, friends, family, boss, or colleagues). Perhaps past experiences are haunting you so that you lose your connection to the present and the people in it. Perhaps it's all of the above.

My therapeutic orientation integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with a Psychodynamic approach, structured within a Family Systems framework.
Welcome! I am an American-trained member of the BACP, with 9 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have worked with clients struggling with a range of mental health difficulties (chronic and acute: depression, anxiety, stress, trauma), but have specific experience with relationship issues (infidelity, breakups/divorce, struggles to connect); grief, bereavement and loss; and addiction. My style is warm and interactive, but challenging when needed. Being non-judgmental, and treating others with respect, sensitivity, and compassion is the bedrock of counselling, and is built into all of my feedback and reflections.

Systemic Family Therapy is a branch of Psychotherapy that promotes change and emotional growth through the shared exploration of troubling experiences; it helps find possible solutions to difficult situations. In life individuals, couples, and families can face many stresses, worries, and changes that can be hard to manage. When difficulties do not resolve naturally or when it feels like close relationships are suffering, Systemic Psychotherapy can help. Systemic Psychotherapy can help to address a range of difficulties and it can be applied to work with both individuals as well as groups of people.

My ideal client is someone navigating complex emotional landscapes, whether as part of a couple, a family unit, or as an individual. They often struggle with communication barriers, unresolved conflicts, or feelings of isolation and anxiety. Their needs revolve around understanding their emotions, improving relationships, and finding healthier coping mechanisms. They seek a safe, supportive space where they can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. Their goals include developing deeper connections with their loved ones, gaining insight into their own mental health, and fostering resilience to face life challenges.

The therapeutic relationship is key, and by offering honesty and openness in a non-judgmental environment, we can work together to achieve what is best for you and your family.
Are you a parent who is worried about their teenager? Are you struggling to communicate with one another whilst finding it hard to understand each other? Does your young person suffer with anxiety or persistent low moods? Maybe they are struggling academically and/or refusing to go to school? Or maybe you are a professional looking for someone to work with a young person in your care? Maybe they are struggling to form relationships or adjust to change. Young people deserve to be heard and listened to, and I hope to provide a space in which they can have exactly that.

I have an integrative approach and use several modalities depending on what your therapeutic journey may need; Psychodynamic, Psychosynthesis, working with 'parts' similar to Internal Family Systems and Gestalt.
My name is Ella and I am a therapist based in the UK. You may be struggling with anxiety, social anxiety, stress, depression, overwhelm, feelings of loneliness, significant loss and grief. Maybe you are struggling with important relationships in your life. Perhaps your struggle is not that clear and you have a feeling that something isn't quite right. I can help. I have helped clients find confidence, clarity, understanding, self-esteem, a way to express themselves and find meaning in an increasingly demanding world. I also work with couples helping them to find ways to better communicate, to feel seen and heard by each other.
