Seeking more self-understanding and acceptance? You might be feeling overwhelmed, lost, stuck in old patterns, or simply yearning for something more meaningful. Maybe you're navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, identity questions, or a sense of disconnection from yourself. You want space to be heard and understood without judgement, to make sense of your experiences, and reconnect with who you truly are. You may be seeking clarity, emotional balance, or simply a place to feel more like yourself again—and you're ready to explore what lies beneath the surface.

I have over 10 years experience working in the systemic field with individuals, couples and families in the NHS, local authorities and at the Anna Freud Centre with further training in RLT through Terry Real’s school and as a systemic supervisor.
I am a systemic psychotherapist and relationship coach specialising in RLT couples therapy. I work with couples who are stuck in patterns of conflict and disconnection and want to find ways to change them. No couple is the same, however it is common for couples to come to therapy when they may be considering separating, taking the next step in their relationship or repairing a significant rupture between them. Whatever the reason that may bring a couple to therapy, I work confidentially with you to explore your unique dynamics, the issues and contexts that underpin them and develop new ways of relating to yourself and your partner.

Does life feel like its getting on top of you? Could you benefit from a place to take some time-out? At certain times we all experience difficulties and doubt, go through life transitions (career change, divorce, new relationship, mid-life crisis) or discover patterns in our lives that are un-supportive. Seeing a counsellor or psychotherapist can help you face these challenges and turn them into an opportunity for personal growth.

Systemic theory views individuals not in isolation but as part of a larger system, such as a family, couple, or organisation.
It's completely normal to face distressing events or feelings that can feel overwhelming, or even intolerable at times. These challenges can stem from various sources, such as relationship difficulties, work-related stress, illness, bereavement, or unknown causes, when the source of distress isn't immediately clear, leaving individuals feeling confused and overwhelmed. In these situations, talking therapy can be a valuable and helpful option.

You might be queer, creative, or sensitive — or all three. You’ve lived outside the lines in some way. Maybe you’ve done the healing work before but find yourself circling the same questions again: Who am I, really? What do I want? Where do I belong? You don’t want quick fixes or shallow advice. You want space to go deeper. To sit with the questions. To feel your way through. I work online and in person in Brighton and London in London Bridge, SE1

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and I work with depression, anxiety, early relational trauma, relationship difficulties, abuse, attachment issues, low self-esteem, life transitions and bereavement. I firmly believe in the power of human connection and that fostering a supportive and nurturing environment is essential for healing and personal growth, while also understanding that true transformation often requires stepping out of the comfort zones to embrace challenges. I aim to create a dynamic and empowering therapeutic experience, a space for both vulnerability and exploration.

I draw on relational psychoanalysis, attachment theory, Internal Family systems, ACT and humanistic approaches.
My experience includes working with: anxiety: panic attacks, chronic worry/intrusive thoughts, low self-esteem, impact of experiencing childhood bullying/violence, relationship/sexuality issues, stress, CPTSD. I did an MA in and still work in the arts. I bring to my practice an understanding of the pressures creative and/or high pressure jobs can present.

Family Therapy Counsellors

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
