I support individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship issues, family conflicts and self-criticism. Many times we feel stuck and ruled by unhealthy thoughts and behaviours that disrupt our lives. A specific traumatic event or experiences growing up might have triggered that or the reason may be more difficult to pinpoint. In our sessions we can gently unpack your needs and what is holding you back from living a fulfilled self-directed life. My aim is to help you tap into the wisdom of body and mind through talking, inner parts work, somatic work, imagery and mindfulness and other creative explorations.

I aim for a warm and welcoming atmosphere as I believe it is important to feel comfortable in the room with your therapist. I am experienced in working with panic attacks, generalised anxiety, depression, work stress, OCD, relationship issues, conflict management, low self-esteem, intrusive thoughts and grief and loss. The therapy hour last 50 minutes. This is your space and you can bring whatever you choose. All feelings and ideas are acceptable in the room and everything is confidential. Therapy moves at your pace and it is also your decision when to end therapy.

Having therapy can be a difficult decision, especially when you feel low, self-critical, lonely, anxious, not worthy of having this type of care for your own self. The power to feel better and release this pain is within you, and I can help you find it. Together we can learn the best way for you to reach and keep a good self-esteem and mental health. I offer a confidential space in which you can feel understood, cared for, free to talk about anything that you require. At your own pace, we can begin to explore what is on your heart and mind and find your strengths and resources to face the challenges you are going through.

Hello and Welcome. My interest in psychotherapy has developed over years of working in conflict environments and as an Executive Coach. So often, clients brought issues to coaching that needed deeper exploration: anxiety, depression, relationship problems, loss, bereavement, addiction to food, alcohol or other substances to relieve stress, low
self esteem
, and self-limiting beliefs. Counselling and psychotherapy provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can work through issues that are of concern to you. The therapeutic process can help you to make changes in your life, develop self awareness and improve well-being.

Perhaps you’ve felt stuck for a while, or have been feeling that something isn’t right but can’t quite identify what that is. You may be anxious, depressed, have low self-esteem. Maybe you are struggling in relationships, or finding it difficult getting your needs met? You may have often felt that you don’t belong, or that you’re not supposed to be doing the work you do. Perhaps you’d like to feel less frustrated, angry or alone? You may be experiencing grief, or struggling with addiction, you might have low libido, or want to explore your sexuality. It might be a family or historic issue you’d like to make sense of. I can help.

Here are some of the issues I have helped clients explore: depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, loss, anger, family relationships, relationships with partners, self-harm, lack of
self esteem
, suicidal thoughts, health-related issues, self-development, creativity, mindfulness, spirituality, search for meaning.
If you decide to work with me it will be rather like setting out on a journey together. On that journey I’ll be your fellow traveller, companion and guide. Whether or not your reason for coming to see me is an external situation that’s impacting your life, a key part of our time together will be to explore your inner world. As we explore that world together you may develop greater insight into patterns of thought and behaviour that served you once but now limit you; you may find alternative ways of approaching difficulties; you may discover a way of being in the world that is more in tune with who you truly are.

Do you sometimes feel lost or stuck? It may feel like sometimes life lacks meaning. It can be a subtle feeling, or it can manifest in panic attacks, pervasive low mood, or anxiety. Although it is painful, this can be the starting point of change. Anxiety, depression, insomnia are signals that certain situations, relationships or identities no longer work, and something new is trying to emerge. I approach psychological struggles as an opportunity for development and I work to facilitate change.

I have experience working with adults and young people across a range of presentations such as low mood and depression, anxiety and OCD, gender identity, self-esteem issues, bereavement, phobias, emotional regulation difficulties , autism/ neurodiversity, ADHD, and difficulties with interpersonal relationships.I believe that unprocessed experiences impact on our well-being. Thus, constructive change requires an understanding of how unresolved issues interact with present 'difficulties' which in turn influence our future direction. I am lecturer in Higher Education with NHS experience. I can offer online sessions or FTF.

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
