Counselling in Soho, London
Trained in a Humanistic-Integrative perspective, I hold the belief that everyone has the innate capacity for growth and healing, when in a supportive and understanding environment. Therefore at the heart of my practice is to establish a secure, safe, therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and collaboration.
I believe our early relationships and experiences deeply influence how we feel about ourselves and connect with others. When those needs weren’t fully met, it can show up later as anxiety, low mood, or struggles in relationships. Therapy offers a space to gently explore those patterns and create new ways of being.

Hi, I’m Simone- a licensed CBT therapist who specialises in working with entrepreneurs, business owners, and high-achievers. I know first-hand how the same drive that fuels your success can also make it hard to switch off, rest, or feel “enough.”
In our work together, I’ll help you untangle unhelpful thinking patterns, manage stress and anxiety, and reconnect with what truly matters to you- not just what looks successful on paper.
My approach combines evidence-based CBT with self-compassion and values-based work, helping you build resilience and a healthier mindset without losing your ambition or edge.

The people I work with often come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected - from themselves, from others, or from a sense of purpose or ease. Many are navigating stress, anxiety, low mood, burnout, or past trauma. Others are struggling with identity or relationship difficulties, including issues around confidence, shame, sexuality, sex or intimacy.
Clients usually want a space where they can make sense of what’s going on without fear of judgment or pressure to “perform” emotionally. They want to feel more grounded and connected - to themselves and others, and that starts with feeling seen, heard and understood.

In our work together, we’ll gently explore what’s been weighing on you, understand the patterns that keep showing up, and find new ways forward that feel more aligned and empowering.
I often work with people who feel like they’re carrying a lot—managing anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, or the pressure to hold everything together. You might find yourself stuck in the same relationship patterns, questioning your worth, or feeling burned out from trying to meet everyone else’s expectations. You're thoughtful and self-aware, but you're ready for deeper support and real change.

The people I work with are not “broken", they are sensitive, thoughtful, and have adapted intelligently to difficult emotional worlds. Therapy is often about unlearning the need to survive, and rediscovering the freedom to live. My style is calm, grounded and depth-oriented, but also practical. We follow what’s happening right now in your life, while exploring the deeper roots that shape how you think, feel, and relate. This can help with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, relationships and trauma.

I am a London-based psychotherapist, working mainly with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, effects of relational trauma, relationship issues/heartbreak/separation/divorce and bereavement/loss/grief. I am registered with the UKCP and comply with its ethical standards. I offer my clients a confidential, safe and respectful space to explore their issues and facilitate their transformation. I take the view that our difficulties are in fact opportunities to bring out what is latent and yearning to be expressed in us, although it often feels difficult to see this possibility as we go through our challenging life situations.

I am a UKCP Registered Clinical Psychotherapist and have been in Clinical Practice since 2003. I am down to earth, friendly and believe therapy is a collaborative process - my job is to help you find in a way that works for you not somebody else. No one type of therapy suits everyone so I deliberately integrate a number of approaches into my work to suit each individual's needs. I know life can be tough and sometimes overwhelming so offer a place where we can talk about what is most difficult so we can make sense of it for you. I offer in person and online therapy (using Zoom or Teams).

Do you find yourself caught in familiar patterns that leave you feeling unseen or overwhelmed? Maybe relationships feel confusing, or you end up caring for others so much that your own needs slip out of focus. You might sense old wounds being stirred and feel unsure how to navigate this alone.
I work well with people who are curious about themselves and their relationships, especially when past trauma still shapes how they feel and respond. Our work will involve collaborating to create a contained space where we can make sense of these patterns together.

My clients are typically people with intercultural background - individuals, couples or groups. They might be facing challenges related to significant change – moving between different countries/cultures, change in their relationship status or professional roles. They might be going through challenging times in life and facing difficult choices: infidelity, separation, opening their relationship, empty nest syndrome. We work in their first or second language - English, Russian or Bulgarian. And even if I don’t speak your native tongue, as someone who is multilingual, I understand the challenges and gifts that come with bilingualism.

People come to counselling/therapy for a range of issues including relationships, stress, fear or anxiety, confidence & self-esteem, procrastination, unhelpful habits or addictions & a whole range of other issues. In the beginning my role is to get to know you, understand who you are, listen why you have come, why you are the way you are, what you might need. I usually ask a lot of questions to find out about you now and what brings you to counselling, a little about your past, to find out how counselling can help alongside considering not only any underlying issues but also how you may want to live your life to your full potential.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are members of the main professional associations, mainly the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Most Psychologists in the directory are accredited members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and/or are registered in the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCP).
Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given that professional memberships are not a statutory requirement for psychotherapists and counsellors in the UK, certain qualified professionals or organisations may choose not to maintain such memberships despite possessing the necessary qualifications. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and experience that enable them to do so in the UK. Psychologists have earned a degree in psychology and many are members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and have completed a postgraduate qualification in a specialism. Counsellors and Psychotherapists are not required to have a psychology degree, but to belong to a professional organisation such as the BACP or UKCP, they are required to have completed a training course as well as clinical and supervision hours.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the UK could be between £30 - £60 when seeing a counsellor and £60 - £150 and up when seeing a clinical psychologist. If you have private insurance, your plan may cover some if not all of your sessions. You should contact your insurance provider to determine if they provide coverage for therapy sessions and to determine what, if any, requirements they might have in order for your sessions to be covered, such as a referral from your GP or medical specialist.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. The NHS Talking therapies programme offers free of charge counselling for common mental health problems like anxiety and depression. The service is available to anyone registered with a GP, though you do not necessarily need to be referred by your GP and can refer yourself directly to a Talking therapies service. The service will provide different solutions, including group and individual therapy, for a limited number of sessions which are generally up to six.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Therapists who are part of a professional organisation such as the BACP, the UKCP, or BPS are bound by an ethical framework that requires them to uphold a confidentiality agreement. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there has been participation in a criminal act or act of terror, or if there is potential or known harm to the client or others, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
