As a trauma-informed therapist my approach is rooted in understanding how early relational experiences shape emotional patterns and affect the nervous system, often leading to developmental trauma. Working with adult survivors of abuse, complex PTSD (CPTSD), and emotional dysregulation. I support clients in healing attachment wounds, helping them cultivate greater self-regulation, emotional resilience, and healthier relationships. Through a compassionate and integrative approach, I create a safe, supportive non-judgemental space, where clients can reconnect with themselves.

There are periods of time when our lives and choices feel difficult and it can seem quite overwhelming. Whether that is presented in feelings of anxiety, depression, sadness, isolation, feelings of not being able to cope, a general feeling of dissatisfaction or relying on external elements such as alcohol or drugs for relief. I am here to provide support and to offer a non-judgemental empathic approach. The goal is to assist you in making the changes you need by talking things through in a safe environment.

Therapy is an investment in yourself and your relationships. It can reveal aspects of yourself that you have taken for granted, such as overworking, over-rationalizing, people-pleasing, or dismissing your own needs and emotions. These patterns emerge because they once served us at different points in life, but what may have been helpful in the past doesn’t always serve us in adulthood. Many clients are motivated to explore these unexamined aspects of themselves—what I often refer to as their 'autopilot'—and to gain greater awareness of how these tendencies shape their relationships and sense of self.

I am a BACP Accredited Gestalt therapist who works holistically and creatively, accompanying you in getting to know and accept all sides of yourself and live a joyous life. I believe that every symptom that manifests in our body (physical, emotional or spiritual) is not separate from our whole existence. Gestalt is a german word that the closest translation is "whole" or "pattern" and as a Gestalt therapist I work with the whole person. I am a long-term yoga and meditation practicioner and I bring my knowledge and experience of the link between mind and body into my sessions.

Are you looking for a safe and supportive space to explore difficult feelings, relationships, or experiences? We all encounter difficulties at some points in our lives: problems with relationships, anxiety or depression, sexual concerns, low self-esteem, addiction to alcohol or drugs, bereavement, trauma or feelings of anger, grief or panic. As a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, I offer a non-judgemental, confidential space in which to explore the conflicts and issues that bring you to therapy and to start to address the underlying patterns that may prevent you from moving forward in your life.

Therapy is my passion, people are my passion, I have extensive experience in providing a safe space for children and adults. Therapy helped me so much when I was going through a very difficult time in my life. I want to be able to help people in the same way. Feeling out of control can be very scary, whether with alcohol, drugs, food, relationships, sex. Wanting to express your emotions but not knowing how to do it in a safe way. This is where I can help, providing a calm, therapeutic, safe space. Sitting alongside adults, helping them to see their true selves or with young people working creatively to explore their emotions

Problems with a particular relationship is often what brings individuals and couples to relationship counselling and psychotherapy. As an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist I offer a non judgmental space where we can think together about the interaction and the conflicts of this relationship, seek to understand the recurrent patterns of difficulties you are facing and resolve the underlying issues. Counselling and psychotherapy may involve exploring the past to the extent that it influences the present.

You might be functioning on the outside but feel constantly overstimulated, misunderstood, or drained from managing expectations that never quite fit who you are. Many of the adults I work with are Autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, or otherwise neurodivergent, some newly discovering their neurotype, others long‑identified but tired of masking, burnout, or feeling like they’re “too much.” If you’re here, it’s probably because something no longer feels sustainable and you’re wondering whether therapy could be a space where you’re finally seen, not fixed.

Sometimes life feels stuck, like there are no good options left. You might look capable to others, but inside you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward.

I am a fully qualified BACP Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist, with nearly 30 years' experience, who worked in frontline NHS services (Hospitals and GP surgeries) for most of my career, and now works exclusively in Private Practice. The three issues I am most proficient in treating are anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. (I count myself in the number of people I have helped out of those dark places.)

Perhaps all in life is well, but there's an underlining feeling that "something is not right" or "I'm just not happy". This might be the point at which we turn within and ask ourselves some questions... In my experience, it can take some time and space to make sense of our thoughts and feelings and to discover what is truly important to us in our life.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
