I’ve worked in specialist services for OCD, autism and eating issues.
My approach is collaborative, open, and compassionate. I enjoy working with both adults and young people to explore a wide range of issues and support meaningful, positive change. As a Clinical Psychologist, I focus on developing a shared understanding of the challenges people face and identifying the areas of life they wish to improve. From there, I draw on a range of evidence-based strategies to deepen insight and help individuals move toward their goals.

You might be navigating OCD, emetophobia, shame or anxiety.
I see therapy as a space where two experts meet: You bring the wisdom of your lived experience, and I use models like CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Behavioural Couple Therapy to find helpful ways to understand and respond to what is happening. Therapy with me is more than talking - it's also about working together to find your next step.

My specialty include depression, OCD, social anxiety, health anxiety, and PTSD.
Do thoughts like “Am I good enough?” or “I can’t do this” follow you wherever you go? Are painful past experiences or constant worries about things going wrong keeping you awake at night? If so, you're not alone. I help people understand what may be keeping these difficulties going and equip them with evidence-based skills and strategies to break free from unhelpful patterns. Life can feel overwhelming at times, but it also offers an opportunity for growth and change. Together, we'll work towards letting go of what no longer serves you, building resilience, and creating a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.

Therapy My focus is working towards change. Deciding to start therapy is the first step on the road to change. Change is about understanding your own patterns of behaviour and learning new ways to deal with the difficulties life often throws at us. Leaning how to make these changes enables you to deal with any issues in your life, using a whole new skill set and a new sense of self-worth and self-empowerment. There are times when everyone needs somebody to listen. As a Psychotherapist I listen objectively, with acceptance and without judgement. I provide the space to explore your feelings and understand all the choices you have,

My special interests are in the field of Depression, Anxiety Disorders, OCD, Postnatal Depression , Stress and Chronic Illness, especially Diabetes and Long Covid.
"Depression is the common cold of psychopathology and has touched the lives of us all" (Dr Martin Seligman). In my 28 year experience as an accredited CBT therapist I have learned that Seligman is right - everybody will experience at one point in their life depression, anxiety or another form of mental health problems. Some of us will manage on their own, some of us will need help. Seeking help for stress and mental health problems should not have any stigma attached to it - it is one way of dealing with the impact of living in an imperfect world.

Anxiety is a natural part of life, but when it becomes overwhelming, it can stop you from doing what matters most—perhaps spending time with loved ones, trying new experiences, or simply feeling at ease. In an effort to cope, it's easy to fall into patterns that make anxiety worse, leaving you feeling stuck or isolated. You might build walls to protect yourself from disappointing others or feeling embarrassed, but those same walls can push people away, leaving you more disconnected. My approach is centered on creating a compassionate, safe space where we can explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are holding you back.

You might be living with anxiety that follows you everywhere, or a low confidence that holds you back even when you know you're capable. Perhaps you've recently received an ADHD diagnosis, or suspect you might be neurodivergent and you're finally making sense of a lifetime of feeling different, exhausted, or not quite enough. Whatever brings you here, one thing is likely true: you are far kinder to everyone around you than you are to yourself.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Counsellors
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, and sertraline, among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
