Asking for help can be really daunting. If you are here, reading this, and have recognised that you might benefit from the kind of support that therapy offers, then you have already taken a big step. There can be lots of reasons you might benefit from therapy. You might be dealing with a difficult time, such as an illness, bereavement, a separation. You might be feeling stressed, anxious, lost or low more often than feels ‘ok’. You might want to understand yourself better, why you feel and behave the way you do, or want to feel more alive.

I'm an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor.
At my practice, RJN Therapy, I work from a curated integrative framework. This means I draw on a combination of psychotherapeutic modalities tailored to my client’s needs. My therapeutic framework is existential. However, I frequently use attachment-based theory and Gestalt practices as therapeutic tools.

My core training is in both IFS (Internal Family Systems and Integrative Art Psychotherapy).
I work from a wonderful big studio near to Regents Park. The space has a traditional 'talking' therapy room as well as a larger space that I call the studio. This is where clients are able to use a wide range of materials to help explore and express themselves. There is never any pressure to use the materials, they are simply there as tools to help.

My experience and training as a psychotherapist includes acknowledging multiple meanings, working creatively with a range of integrative psychotherapy approaches and strategies.
People come to counselling/therapy for a range of issues including relationships, stress, fear or anxiety, confidence & self-esteem, procrastination, unhelpful habits or addictions & a whole range of other issues. In the beginning my role is to get to know you, understand who you are, listen why you have come, why you are the way you are, what you might need. I usually ask a lot of questions to find out about you now and what brings you to counselling, a little about your past, to find out how counselling can help alongside considering not only any underlying issues but also how you may want to live your life to your full potential.

I am also currently enrolled on an advanced training course in Integrative Psychotherapy at the institute.
I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor in the Chalk Farm area. I provide a gentle, explorative space for those grappling with an awareness that something is wrong; you may be struggling under the weight of familiar long-term difficulties, or feel unable to face a concrete ending or change. Or, you may find yourself increasingly aware of sadness, confusion, or anxiety that you feel, but cannot properly explain. Therapy is a place for our inner experience (often long-unacknowledged, and often painful) to be gradually known - and allowed expression.

Every client is unique so I will draw on a variety of these modalities depending on what you may bring to therapy so I can offer you a bespoke, integrative approach.
Hello, I am a Counselling Psychologist and work with adults and children who are struggling to cope with different types of distress. This might be depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, OCD, addictions, bereavement, gender identity, trauma, relationship difficulties etc. I offer a free, initial 15min consultation call to see if you feel we are the right fit. If you decide to proceed then whatever difficulties you are having, we would begin with an assessment to learn more about what brings you to therapy, think collaboratively about your goals for treatment and formulate a plan for which approach might be most helpful.

What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.
How does integrative therapy work?
Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behaviour patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.
How long does integrative therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
How effective is integrative therapy?
There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
