I'm Javaneh, specialised in children, adolescents and young adults.
My approach is integrative. I am trained to focus on the root cause of the problems and to provide a safe space for you to explore your inner world. I believe in empowering my clients and enhancing their sense of self through self exploration. I understand that therapy can be daunting so I try to make it as human and grounded as possible.

I offer deep, engaged and confidential psychotherapy for young people and children of various ages and backgrounds.
Growing up is not easy. In a world increasingly dominated by digital tools and quick-fix solutions, I offer something distinct: a space grounded in live, human presence. This is especially important for young people immersed in screen-based life. For overloaded, overstimulated nervous systems that struggle to relate in real time, therapy offers a vital chance to rest, breathe, rewire and settle — to explore different ways of being, expand self-awareness and self-esteem, and build resilience.

I work with children, teenagers, young adults, parents, and individual adults, offering a space that feels calm, steady, and genuinely supportive.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in trust. With children and teens, I often use creativity, play, and metaphor when words feel hard to find. With adults, I offer a reflective space to explore past experiences, old patterns, and parts of yourself that might have been hidden or lost and to find healthier and more supportive ways of coping.

I am experienced working with children and adults, across a variety of difficulties including those related to ADHD and Autism.
Hello, I’m Isabel, a Clinical Psychologist at Oak Tree Practice. I’ve had a deep interest in psychology and understanding people for as long as I can remember and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do this as my job. Through my training, I’ve gained experience working with adults, young people and families in a range of settings, supporting people through a range of challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression and trauma. Working in these diverse settings has given me insight into how different environments can shape our mental health and it has inspired me to take a compassionate, individualised approach with each person

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?

Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How long are sessions with child therapists?

Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.

How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?

The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?

A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
