I have worked with a wide range of issues such as addictions, mens issues, bereavement, relationships, abuse, depression and racial/cultural identity.
Hello there and welcome to my profile. Clients are always welcome to bring any issue to therapy, no matter how big or small they may feel it is and would like support with their issue. They have a desire for change. They've come to therapy because they would like to explore, understand themselves better, their issue and the emotions surrounding it. To process what is or has happened. To make a real lasting impact. I offer a competitive rate because I truly believe that therapy should be as accessible as possible.

I also facilitate grief groups with 'Youareloved' I have also worked in rehabs supporting people with alcoholism and addiction & other difficulties, while witnessing how aftercare continues to support well-being & sobriety in creating a balance for self-care.
Hi, I'm Shane, a humanistic therapist in NW6. I am trained as a Person-centered / Pluralistic Counsellor / Psychotherapist and am a registered MBACP Counsellor & Psychotherapist. Finding a moment for yourself may be difficult, - glad to see you were able to arrive and that you’ve made it this far – I feel it’s such a brave move to reach out for help. As humans I feel we are able to find a strength and resilience which allows us to be the best versions of ourselves. This may mean asking for some guidance, in a warm safe space to explore what’s coming up for you. I'm here to hold whatever you share without judgement and with empathy

'Our minds are born, develop and continue to live in our relationships' I am an integrative psychotherapist offering individual and couple therapy online. I draw from various psychological concepts and theories in my therapeutic practice to work with your individual needs. However I believe the foundation for lasting positive change happens ultimately within the good collaboration between the client and the therapist. 'If we want to know ourselves better we have to pay attention to our relationships'

Often people avoid therapy because they feel like their problems aren’t that bad, but I believe that it is more about saying, "I want more for myself". Together, we can explore what that looks like for you.

Hello, I'm Sam, an accredited psychotherapist and counsellor working with children, adolescents and adults in North West London and online. Together, we can navigate the challenges you may be facing, whether it's stemming from a traumatic event, a complex childhood with experiences of neglect and abuse, or to work on patterns that you notice might be blocking you reaching your goals. A common thread of depression and anxiety often lead people to initiate their therapeutic journey, or perhaps you're simply seeking additional support during a phase where you don't feel quite like yourself.

I have 30 years’ experience supporting adults with addiction, including alcohol and drug use.
I work with alcohol and drug dependence and other compulsions as behavioural defences. These defences often create harm. I support you to stop or control the behaviour so we can do the deeper work of understanding and resolving the emotional issues you may be avoiding or not yet seeing.

I am a BACP Accredited Gestalt therapist who works holistically and creatively, accompanying you in getting to know and accept all sides of yourself and live a joyous life. Gestalt is a german word that the closest translation is "whole" or "pattern" and as a Gestalt therapist I work with the whole person. I am a long-term yoga and meditation practicioner and I bring my knowledge and experience of the link between mind and body into my sessions.

Men's issues include ED, low sex drive, pornography addiction, alcohol addiction and relationship or social challenges.
Life constantly provides difficult situations that can bring emotional and psychological challenges. It can be hard to work through situations alone and often, those closest to us can be too involved to lean on for support. I provide Psychotherapy sessions helping you to grow into the best version of yourself in uplifting, progressive therapy sessions.

I use a trauma informed approach to work with women addressing issues like anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, relationships.
Hi, I'm Lauran an Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, Emotional and Mental Wellness Therapist, Healer & Teacher. We exist with quiet confidence & inner knowing when our interiority is in alignment with our external lives.  My background in western Psychology has given me an amazing understanding of the diagnostic process, however, I believe true healing comes from looking at our emotional and mental lives and exploring deeply and insightfully the things that keep us emotionally regulated. I am strongly influenced by Jungian and existential schools. I work from Marylebone (W1) and Queens Park London (NW6) London.

Addiction Counsellors
What is the best therapy for addiction?
Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?
There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?
Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?
The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
