I support people to navigate a broad range of problems such as low mood, anxiety, burnout and stress, bereavement, loss, life transitions, fertility issues, parenting challenges, the effects of traumatic experiences, living with health conditions and new diagnoses, difficulty making decisions or feeling without a sense of purpose in life.
I view therapy as a collaborative project drawing on the skills and knowledge of the people consulting me. I aid this process by integrating evidence-based approaches such as narrative, compassion focused and cognitive-behavioural therapies. If it feels safe to do so, we can incorporate the knowledge and experience that is held in the body, into our work.

For example, has communication broken down or stopped? Do conversations turn into arguments? Are you feeling unheard, unwanted and alone? Or are you feeling boxed-in and overwhelmed? Are there trust issues? Has someone had an affair? Is there conflict around your sex-life, fertility issues, parenting etc? Whatever your situation, your relationship is important to you, and deserves help.
When relationships experience difficulty, couples can feel unsure what to do. You can feel alone, sad, angry, and overwhelmed. I work to help couples to understand, and to move through the painful issues and road-blocks - toward happier, supportive and fulfilling relating. The relationship and the individuals can move forward strengthened by the experience.

As a parent, and from experience working in the perinatal field, I support parents to find a way forward.
Life can be difficult, and the stories we tell ourselves can often limit and block us in leading the life we truly want to lead. Through my work as an integrative therapist, I draw on a variety of different approaches, to assist you in meeting your particular needs and goals. I use the relationship we gradually build together to shine a light on understanding other relationships in your life, to better understand yourself, and develop the resources to live more authentically.

Or just caught up in the cycle of life thinking how have I ended up here? AGAIN? NO! Whatever it is, be it addiction, relationships, parenting- being a dad, or work.
Epictetus asked: “How long are you going to wait before you demand the best of yourself?” Transformation isn't about what you do, it’s about who you are being, and when we reconnect with our authentic self, we rise above what we must, accept what we can, and move forward with grace. I want to celebrate what’s already working, and where you are winning!

Are you stuck repeating arguments or misunderstandings? Perhaps you're struggling with the effects of infidelity or loss of trust? Are you wondering where your desire went? You might be facing life stages - pregnancy, fertility issues, parenting, midlife, retirement/redundancy, empty nest, ageing.
I have a PG Dip and MA (distinction) in Couple & Individual psychodynamic counselling & psychotherapy from Tavistock Relationships. Psychodynamic psychotherapy rests on the understanding that early experiences affect thoughts, ideas and patterns that we carry with us through life. These can collide with the present causing real issues that need untangling.

I work with relationship difficulties, depression, grief, anxiety, identity-related issues (race, gender and sexuality), parenting struggles, stress and burnout, sexual abuse, suicidality, and other attachment-based wounds.
Having lived in South Asia, the Middle East, America, France and now the UK, I am able to acknowledge and accept the social and cultural uniqueness of each person. I work with the understanding of intersectional complexities, systems of oppression, neurodiversity and GSRD (gender, sexual, and relationship diversity). Together we explore all aspects of your lived experience, time travelling between past experiences, how they affect the present and acknowledging future fantasies and/or anxieties. I aim to re-establish broken connections between mind, body and spirit.

Parenting Counsellors

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
