I have over 10 years experience helping people overcome a range of psychological difficulties including PTSD, cPTSD, OCD, depression, anxiety issues, low self esteem, attachment issues, disordered eating and more.
Sometimes we find ourselves in situations or patterns with our thinking or relating that we aren't able to find our way forward from on our own and this is where therapy can be very helpful. Therapy is non judgemental and supportive but at times challenging and even though it can be hard, most people find that therapy is worth the effort.

I believe that we tend to access therapy when it’s no longer possible for us to travel alone on our journey, hidden from ourselves and others, stuck in familiar and/or unfamiliar patterns that can no longer contain us, and when the way in which we are relating (or not relating) to ourselves, others and the world around us, is no longer making us feel fully alive. Something tells us it's time to look inwards. Looking inwards can feel daunting but it is necessary in order to instigate meaningful and lasting changes ( both external and internal ).

It can be hard to live in our own heads. Worries, fears, sadness and feelings of inadequacy can make it feel like we are swimming against the tide. Our psychological difficulties may have been with us for a long time or may have started more recently. Whatever our mental health concerns, psychological therapy is an opportunity to change our relationship with our minds: a place to learn the skills to cope better with what life may throw at us, and a chance to find the inner resources that we all have, to allow us to move towards living a more fulfilling life.

I'd be honoured to offer you a space where you'll feel truly heard, understood and supported. I'm Alex, a BACP Accredited counsellor, with 8+ years' experience, and 25+ five-star Trustpilot reviews. Whatever you're going through, we'll figure it out together. I believe that, deep down, we all have an inner compass, a certain sense of intuition that can guide us forward. If we're not careful, however, life’s pressures can easily obscure it. In our sessions, I’ll help you to reconnect with yourself, so you can navigate life's challenges with more clarity and confidence, and make decisions that better align with who you want to be.

I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger, addiction, past or present trauma, and LGBTQIA+ related issues; I am interested in the impact of shame and its influence on a person's life. Life can bring many challenges where you may feel overwhelmed. It may be a specific life event, relationship problems or work related stress; or an ongoing anxiety, depression or low mood that concerns you. Perhaps you have questions of identity? Or perhaps feel your life is lacking purpose? Life can be difficult to navigate and this is where counselling can support you.

Hello and welcome, I believe that it's vital to get the right support when life isn't going so well. I also believe that all of us carry pain within and occasionally find ourselves in dark woods. Therefore, we shouldn’t feel any shame or judgment in discussing our life experiences. My journey to becoming a therapist began as a direct result of my personal therapy and how beneficial and life-changing it was for me. I am convinced that the most important factor in therapy is the trusting therapeutic relationship. Therefore I offer compassion and a non-judgemental attitude as a starting point to meet each other.

We all face moments in life which can be challenging, where we can find ourselves feeling out of control, struggling to cope and in emotional pain. At the heart of my practice, I prioritise building a warm, trusting and non-judgemental relationship as a strong foundation for you to feel safe to explore in-depth your most difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences. Working together, I believe therapy can help increase your self-awareness, which can bring about new possibilities and real change in your life. Therapy can also help you develop healthier strategies to cope with new challenges and past experiences.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to shift, caught between feeling constantly on edge or emotionally shut down. Even if you understand your thoughts, things still don’t feel settled. Often, this isn’t just in your mind, it’s connected to how your nervous system has adapted to stress, trauma, and relationships over time. I’m a London-based therapist specialising in nervous system regulation and trauma-informed therapy, supporting people who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in recurring emotional patterns.

Hi, I’m Ilan! I’m a Clinical Psychologist and Director of The Oak Tree Practice. I want to tell you a bit more about myself, as I realise selecting a psychologist can be a tough task! I feel very privileged to be able to say I love what I do and always have, ever since I started volunteering for ChildLine in 2007. Following this, I’ve had experience working with a wide variety of clients including children, young people, adults, older adults, military personnel, individuals with learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders and neurological conditions. I have also furthered my studies through the completion of undergraduate, masters and doctoral degrees. All this aside, one of the most important parts of my work is building relationships with those sitting opposite me. I have always believed that you can have all the training and knowledge in the world, but if the client doesn’t return, none of this can be put into action. Therefore, my first aim is always to provide a warm, compassionate and non-judgmental space where we can work on the clients’ difficulties together.
