Has your desire disappeared? Maybe you're questioning your sexual orientation? Navigating through the complexities of sex and relationships can feel like riding a rollercoaster, and not the fun kind. You've explored every avenue, and advice from Google isn't cutting it. You might feel hesitant about trying sex therapy, or perhaps you've had a less-than-great experience in the past. Either way, you need someone who will listen without judgement.

My main approach is to encourage you to explore your feelings and take responsibility for your thoughts and actions. As I work in a way that empowers the client, I always work with what you present. Bottled up feelings such as anger, anxiety, grief, jealousy, sadness, shame and pain can become very overwhelming. The opportunity to express them can make it much easier to understand yourself and others. As I acknowledge your feelings and respect you as a person in your own right, you gain self-respect and a sense of being valued. This leads to building trust between counsellor and client, which is an essential part of the process.

Coming to therapy, wanting to understand yourself, is a deeply vulnerable and brave thing to do. Life can be demanding and fast-paced and I think therapy can be a place that offers the opportunity to slow it down, connect with what our bodies are telling us and process difficult emotions or experiences. People come to therapy for a myriad of reasons and I have worked with a broad range of concerns and issues. Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, I offer a warm and compassionate space to explore. Therapy can offer a space to untangle and understand who we are and the opportunity to live more peacefully.

I believe that we tend to access therapy when it’s no longer possible for us to travel alone on our journey, hidden from ourselves and others, stuck in familiar and/or unfamiliar patterns that can no longer contain us, and when the way in which we are relating (or not relating) to ourselves, others and the world around us, is no longer making us feel fully alive. Something tells us it's time to look inwards. Looking inwards can feel daunting but it is necessary in order to instigate meaningful and lasting changes ( both external and internal ).

People start therapy for many different reasons. You may feel dissatisfied, worried or sad, want to explore the past, process difficult events, or achieve goals. By also using art-making, it is possible to explore emotional issues in a different, sometimes deeper way, one that words alone may not allow. You do not need to be an artist to benefit from this, just drawn to the idea of expressing yourself creatively. I have experience of helping with a range of issues, from common life problems, through depression, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, and experiences of unstable mood.

Are you struggling at the moment? Would you like to be able to better understand yourself and why you think and act the way you do? Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed and want to think it through with someone. Or perhaps you feel like therapy is something you'd like to try. I create a safe, nurturing, non-judgemental space for people to be able to be their full selves and talk through things that might be difficult for them. Finding such spaces can be difficult in our society. Considering therapy is the first step and I'd like to support you in considering further steps you'd like to take.

We all encounter difficulties in life. It may be that you feel stuck and unable to move forward, to change things in your life and bring in more joy, peace and authenticity. I am here to help you with that. My approach to psychotherapy is relational and client focused. It provides a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where we can think together about the difficulties in your life and what is causing them. Often, our past relationships and emotional development inform our present life to a much greater extent than we imagine. Together we can work towards creating a happier, more peaceful and more fulfilled life for you.

I am great at supporting people to grow to be the best, most fully functioning version of themselves. The barrier to this is unique to you. You may have a difficult past, problems in the present or fear about the future. I know you'll need to feel safe to speak about deep feelings and it can take time for this trust to develop. It will help if you are willing to be kind to yourself and to work with me to find a way to say the things that feel most difficult or scary. It can be useful to try to be curious about yourself, to notice and name thoughts and feelings as they arise, I will listen without judgment.

If you are feeling sad, lonely, anxious, frightened, confused, or depressed then a safe, confidential, non-judgemental therapeutic space may be for you. I offer psychotherapy or counselling to help you explore, reflect and understand yourself better. My approach is formed by listening to your needs as we engage in a therapeutic relationship which seeks to help and support you in all areas of your life. We might explore practical ways to manage symptoms, whilst over time we think together more deeply about the multiple and complex layers which underpin these. We work together to create opportunities for insight and healing.
