I work with children aged 3–12 who are finding things hard emotionally, and need a safe, child-led space to make sense of their experiences. Parents contact me when a child is experiencing anxiety, emotional outbursts, withdrawal, difficulties with friendships, changes at home or school, or after a stressful or upsetting experience. I’m a Child-Centred Play Therapist with 10+ years’ experience working with children and families, previously teaching neurodivergent children with complex emotional and communication needs in Special Educational Needs schools. I work closely with the whole system around a child for long-lasting change.

Hello, I'm Kawita. Maybe you don't know what you're looking for from counselling. You might be feeling misunderstood, confused, isolated, stuck, and that something just isn't right. Or maybe there is something specific on your mind. I have supported clients with all kinds issues ranging from a general sense of being lost and identity issues, to more specific issues such as depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, body dysmorphia, injuries, family/relationship difficulties, and abuse. No matter your situation, I will work together with you to really understand the depth and meaning of what's going on in your life. No issue is too small.

I offer therapy sessions both in-person and online on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Hello! I'm Soirse and I'm a Creative Therapist practicing in Islington, London. I help adults and adolescents who are living with the impact of difficult life experiences, struggling with low mood, or feeling disconnected from their authentic identity. Do you feel constantly on edge, replaying painful memories, or struggling to switch off? Maybe you’re finding it hard to sleep, coping with waves of anger or sadness, or noticing yourself withdraw from people and situations. Sometimes past experiences show up in the present - in your emotions, your relationships, and how you see yourself - leaving you feeling stuck or disconnected.

I offer therapy online & in person.
As a Clinical Psychologist, people often come to me when they are feeling stuck in patterns and want to make sense of the difficulties in their life. My approach is reIational and collaborative. Through this, I hope to provide a curious, containing and hopeful space to find alternate ways of being. I work with adults, and also have expertise working with young people and families, who may be experiencing difficulties with mood, anxiety, trauma, relationships, or identity. I believe it is important to recognise how our sociopolitical and cultural context shape and contribute to distress, and take a neuroaffirmative approach.

I work in private practice from HQ Therapy Rooms, Haggerston, offering in-person and online sessions.
Together, we will think about what may be troubling you and aim to make sense of this. In sessions, we may uncover thoughts, memories and feelings that have previously remained unconscious. Bringing these to conscious awareness allows scope to consider how past experiences and previous relationships hold influence over your current well-being.

I mainly offer online sessions, with limited in-person availability.
Many people come to therapy not because life has fallen apart, but because they’ve been holding things together for a long time. You may look capable and steady on the outside, yet feel tired, distant, or quietly overwhelmed inside. You might have coped for years, supported others, or kept going through experiences that never fully had space to be processed. Often, the struggle isn’t dramatic or visible — it’s a sense of disconnection, emotional shutdown, or carrying something in the body that hasn’t eased with time. Many people who arrive here are emotionally aware and reflective, yet sense that insight alone hasn’t been enough.

I offer both long-term therapy and time-limited therapy, online or in person, Monday - Friday.
You might be feeling low, anxious, stressed, or noticing that familiar patterns keep showing up in your relationships or in how you relate to yourself. You might be unsure why life feels so hard, or sense that something isn’t quite working. Perhaps a loss or significant transition has made life feel unbearable or empty. Often, people want a space to reflect with someone else, to feel listened to, engaged with, and genuinely heard. From there, it can become possible to gain awareness of what’s going on for you, and begin to approach your life and choices with compassion and intention.

Therapy is here to support and question what's happening in your life, so that you can explore the conflicts that may be arising for you. You will have relationships and experiences, past and present, that have informed who you are. Therapy with me can enable you to notice where tensions and an imbalance might lay. I provide a safe space and listening ear, so that you can get to know yourself a little better.

My background is in person-centred counselling, which places the focus on the client’s personal power that is to be supported by the safe environment co-created with the therapist.
Hi, I’m Zsófi, and I am a person-centred counsellor offering psychotherapy to adults at two different locations in London (in Hackney and in Golders Green) and online, in English and in Hungarian (Magyar). I am curious and ready to be surprised and be led by you in whichever direction feels to be the most important to be brought into the room. I believe that every counselling process is different, and it is the uniqueness of the counselling relationship that can provide a soil for the process of change.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
