I am a psychotherapist and supervisor and hold a master’s degree in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy. Currently, I am also in the accreditation process for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). One focus of my work is exploring the space where mind and body meet. I believe they are not separate. By listening to the body, we create pathways to our current and past experiences. This interest led me to EMDR and the idea that experiences can be ‘locked’ in our bodies. EMDR a method which is effective in treating individuals who have psychological difficulties arising from traumatic experiences.

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and I work with depression, anxiety, early relational trauma, relationship difficulties, abuse, attachment issues, low self-esteem, life transitions and bereavement. I firmly believe in the power of human connection and that fostering a supportive and nurturing environment is essential for healing and personal growth, while also understanding that true transformation often requires stepping out of the comfort zones to embrace challenges. I aim to create a dynamic and empowering therapeutic experience, a space for both vulnerability and exploration.

Whatever your reason for being here, I will meet you where you’re at. My wish is for you to feel heard, seen, valued and understood, so that together, we can create a safe collaborative space for you to explore what is going on for you. As an integrative psychotherapist specialising in re-integrating emotional trauma, I have extensive experience of helping clients to process and release their pain.

I work with a Greenwich based charity providing specialist counselling to pregnant women and young mums dealing with emotional or mental health difficulties; post-natal depression, loss, family relationships and negative birthing experience.
As a mother of four and a family support worker for many years before qualifying as a counsellor, I have first-hand experience of the challenges of family life and how difficult it can be to navigate. The days can start to feel overwhelming and unmanageable, inducing massive stress and anxiety. Or perhaps the early years were okay, but now the family is mature and you are feeling sad or stuck, with no sense of how to move forward. Therapy gives you the chance to focus on who you are, as well as your relationships with others and the world around you.

We all encounter difficult times in life. The loss of loved ones, relationship breakdown, difficulties at work, and poor physical health, for example, may have a huge impact on our ability to function. During these times we may find it difficult to cope and struggle to know what to do to feel better.

Hi, I'm Georgina. I believe we are all trying to live the lives we want to. Sometimes, through no fault of our own, our experiences and coping strategies can get in the way of us connecting to the life we want. By drawing on psychological theories, I can support you to understand your personal story and make sense of your difficulties. This understanding can go a long way in empowering you to make those desired life changes. It will also guide us to the therapeutic strategies that are best suited to your individual difficulties and that will support you further on your journey to psychological well-being.

Sometimes life hits hard and we find it hard to cope. Sometimes everything seems to be well, and still, we are unhappy. There are times when we feel haunted by our past, and times when we just don’t understand some parts of ourselves - thoughts, emotions, or even physical pain. And we are going through increasing global uncertainty: Covid, the current political and financial situation, wars and climate change are only a few of the unsettling topic we are exposed to 24/7 - we are facing a previously unimaginable amount of collective stress, anxiety and grief.

In my practice I take a pluralistic approach to therapy. There isn’t a single ‘best’ method for everyone, different clients have different needs at different times. To provide the most effective support, I believe it’s essential to collaborate with you and understand what approaches work best for your unique situation. I create a nurturing and accepting atmosphere for you to explore your challenges at your own pace. I foster genuine connections, offering a safe, judgment-free space for sharing experiences and emotions.

As a dedicated CBT therapist I work with clients who suffer with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, bereavement, emotional eating and more. CBT is a talk based therapy that uses techniques to help clients trapped in negative thought patterns, emotions and behaviours move to positive ones to improve the quality of day to day life. We will work together to achieving your therapy goals. With a person centered approach I empower individuals through self awareness to better understand their thought process, navigate their emotional landscape and express their behaviours differently.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
