Through my personal experiences, as well as professional, I am capable of exploring complex and emotionally troubling issues stemming from traumas such as grief, abuse, loneliness and disconnection, relationships, anxiety, depression and issues around being able to express anger.
Being understood and accepted, without judgement and with compassion, is the most important experience we can receive from another person. I have a extensive experience working with trauma(PTSD&CPTSD), bereavement, anxiety (fear), abuse, mental health issues, depression as well as general feelings of hopelessness and sadness and I will offer my experience and knowledge to help empower you to experience yourself, understand yourself and feel more confidant and emotionally connected. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I can be found on their website.

relationships, grieving and excessive use of anger.
I believe therapy can offer a safe space for self-discovery that provides you with an opportunity to creatively discover how you want to live. I am particularly inclined to listen to how an individual describes their world, as I believe each person experiences life in a unique way that can rarely be communicated to someone else. I have worked extensively with individuals facing challenges such as anxiety (towards a specific situation and generalised), depression, breakdown of a relationship, grieving, work issues, infertility and addiction. I also focus on the metaphysical meaning of physical illness to improve wellbeing.

This can include exploring issues such as anxiety, low mood, anger, grief and loss, stress, trauma, parenting, sexuality, relationships, life transitions, identity, existential questions, identity, communication, personal agency, and blocks to creativity.
Starting this process can feel daunting, and the first step is for us to meet each other. I warmly welcome clients of all ages (18+), cultural and class backgrounds, and diverse sexuality, relationship and affectional orientations, to email me for a free initial phone consultation to discuss what you need and how I might support you. Psychotherapy is a wonderful opportunity to develop relational self-awareness and explore your experience, as well as a tool to engage with difficulty and distress in your life. By helping you to understand and illuminate your feelings and experiences, we begin a process of discovery and awareness.

I have a breadth of experience working with bereaved individuals, navigating loss and grief, also working with anger, anxiety, low self-esteem and those at a crossroads.
With me, you have a trust worthy and confidential counsellor, without judgements or prejudices, solely placing you at the centre of the process, where you belong. There is no instruction manual on what to do as a client in counselling, it can support you in navigating your situation and feelings and when you're ready assist you in finding a way. You may be anxious and unsure of the direction of your life, maybe you feel something is missing, have suffered a bereavement, are overwhelmed by anxiety or you just don't feel like yourself. Counselling can help. You can just use the space to tell me whatever is in your head.

Welcome to a safe place to talk. There are many reasons why people reach out for help. It may be connected with relationship difficulties, feeling lonely, suffering a bereavement, experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, struggling with depression, trauma, anger, low self-esteem, or work issues. Sometimes there is nothing specific to name. I am a qualified, registered and experienced therapist, holding a degree in psychology and I have been professionally trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I am a member of the professional bodies UKCP and FPC.

I have experience of working with clients on issues such as depression and low mood, anxiety, loss and bereavement, low self-esteem, anger management, abuse, relationships difficulties, work related issues, addiction, exam stress, child and adolescent issues, adoption and fostering, health issues, personal development and general counselling.
I am a qualified BACP Therapist and Supervisor. If you are considering how therapy can support you through challenging life events, I can support you by offering a safe & confidential space in which you can begin to examine what may feel impossible right now to resolve by yourself; without fear of being judged and experience, perhaps for the first time, a real feeling of being heard. I work by helping you to explore your thoughts, emotions and life story so far, with the aim of both of us understanding & together making sense of the difficulties you are experiencing. Together, we will then seek a way of moving forward positively.

Do you feel like you are battling something? It may be anxiety or depression; anger or regret; a difficult relationship; a memory, grudge or sense of somehow being ‘wrong’. It may be that you find yourself repeating negative patterns of behaviour or thought, or your responses take you by surprise. You may fear talking to others about your struggles, thinking they are unreasonable or that no-one can help. I will support you with curiosity and compassion as you explore your experiences and make connections. Together we can create space for you to reflect and reconnect with yourself.

I was helped tremendously by my own experience of therapy, and have been influenced by a variety of approaches to it. I know a thing or two about depression, not caring much for oneself and struggling to understand one’s feelings; I come at it as one who has seen for himself that a better life and a better relationship with the self is both possible and worthwhile. If you would like to know more about me, how I understand therapy and how I work, you might want to visit my website, where I write about all at some depth. For the purposes of this profile, I will try to be succinct.

Does life feel like its getting on top of you? Could you benefit from a place to take some time-out? At certain times we all experience difficulties and doubt, go through life transitions (career change, divorce, new relationship, mid-life crisis) or discover patterns in our lives that are un-supportive. Seeing a counsellor or psychotherapist can help you face these challenges and turn them into an opportunity for personal growth.

I work with people who feel stressed, depressed, anxious, or perhaps a little bit lost and need some help to relax, feel more self confident and balanced, and more able to cope and enjoy their life more happily. We can all feel down, depressed, and lost at times, but with gentleness, patience, and support it can be changed. Some of my clients just need some help getting clear on their aims and goals and taking actions to get there. Some clients need more ongoing support to help them cope with day-to-day stresses, and also with building their self confidence and self esteem.

You may be experiencing anxiety, a lack of motivation or that you are surviving rather than enjoying life. I will support you to gain a deeper understanding of your challenges and to find out what aspects of your life you want to bring about change. I have trained as an integrative psychotherapist completing the last year of my master’s degree in existential-phenomenological psychotherapy. In my approach to therapy, I look to explore the struggles that my clients are facing, the way they are living their lives and their relationships, and how the personal choices they have made are currently affecting them so they can find meaning.

Sometimes life hits hard and we find it hard to cope. Sometimes everything seems to be well, and still, we are unhappy. There are times when we feel haunted by our past, and times when we just don’t understand some parts of ourselves - thoughts, emotions, or even physical pain. And we are going through increasing global uncertainty: Covid, the current political and financial situation, wars and climate change are only a few of the unsettling topic we are exposed to 24/7 - we are facing a previously unimaginable amount of collective stress, anxiety and grief.

As a dedicated CBT therapist I work with clients who suffer with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, bereavement, emotional eating and more. CBT is a talk based therapy that uses techniques to help clients trapped in negative thought patterns, emotions and behaviours move to positive ones to improve the quality of day to day life. We will work together to achieving your therapy goals. With a person centered approach I empower individuals through self awareness to better understand their thought process, navigate their emotional landscape and express their behaviours differently.

I am a Person Centred Therapist registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have extensive experience working with under-represented communities and helping people understanding their behaviours. My counselling journey started a decade ago, not as a qualified counsellor, but as a client. By offering a judgment free space and the opportunity to be vulnerable, my therapist supported me on my journey of self-acceptance. It is on that connection between counsellor and client that I base my work. In my humanistic approach to therapy I believe that my clients are the experts of themselves.

Anger Management Counsellors

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
