Hi, I’m Eli, a psychotherapist who supports children and young people through emotional and social challenges. Parents come to me when their child struggles with anxiety, low confidence, social difficulties, or changes at home or school. I work especially with neurodivergent young people, including those with ADHD and autism. Together, we create a safe, calm space where children can explore feelings, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills at their own pace.

Therapy with me provides you the space to hear your own voice more clearly. I am a BACP-registered therapist working with individuals and couples who are struggling to find connection, understanding, or peace in their life. Whether facing conflict, distance, betrayal, life transitions, or a sense of being “stuck,” I offer a therapeutic space to slow down and explore what lies beneath the surface. My work is grounded in the belief that emotional distress often has deep roots in early relationships, and that healing involves making sense of the patterns we carry—sometimes unknowingly into our adult lives.

I work with both individuals, couples and families, specialising in helping those with relationship difficulties, low-self esteem, anxiety and depression. Relationships are the most exciting and fulfilling aspect in our lives, but they can also be difficult and challenging. Most relationships go through a difficult patch at some time. Through counselling, you can learn how to stop fights from escalating, identify and change the underlying patterns that cause them and reconnect to the bond that you share with each other.

I help people to feel better about themselves and empowered to make positive changes to their lives. Being truly heard (perhaps for the first time) by someone who will never judge, dictate to, or betray you, can be a profoundly healing experience. With growing trust and commitment, negative thoughts and feelings can be explored, understood and overcome. Regrets about the past and fears for the future can be replaced by fulfilment in the present.

Are you feeling like you’re only just holding it all together on the outside but struggling underneath. If life feels overwhelming right now you deserve support that works for you. Maybe you constantly second guess yourself, feel pressure to get it right, worry about how others see you. Many of my clients describe feeling disconnected from themselves. Therapy is where we begin gently reconnecting. In our sessions we’ll work together to understand your patterns, calm your nervous system, and build new ways of relating to yourself – gently and at your pace.

My ideal client is someone who has reached a point where carrying on as they are no longer feels possible. They may be struggling with trauma, loss, anxiety, or a deep sense of disconnection. What they long for is relief, understanding, and a renewed sense of meaning. Beneath their pain is the wish to feel alive and whole again — to rebuild trust in themselves and in life. They don’t want quick fixes; they want to face their truth with honesty and courage, and to find a way forward that feels authentic and grounded.

As an integrative therapist, I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults (typically aged 6-25) who are navigating the often-turbulent waters of growth and development. My approach is rooted in the belief that every young person possesses an inherent capacity for resilience and well-being, even when facing significant challenges.

When we're trying to cope with situations and experiences that are difficult for us, it's easy to find ourselves reacting in ways we don't like or want and to keep repeating patterns we can't seem to stop or change. I'm an experienced therapist specialising in problems with anxiety, depression, anger management, OCD, self-confidence, motivation, work stress and relationship issues. My approach is to provide a confidential, non-judgemental space where we can talk through your experiences to gain clarity and insight, and help you take consistent steps to navigate problems and challenges in a way that brings you genuine change.

There are many reasons why you may be looking for therapy – whether that is simply a space to make sense of where you are in your life right now, a particular difficulty or ongoing challenge, or instigating some change in your life. The ultimate goal is to move forward and my integrative therapy training and experience means I will work with the past, present and future. I work solely online and have been doing so since 2020 with great effect. I have been working for over twenty years as a therapist with trainings in a number of modalities (psychodynamic, CBT, humanistic, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, neurolinguistic programming.

How do I work? I provide an open, non-judgemental space for you, either as an individual or as a couple, to explore and make sense of your issues, to help you move forward in life to the place you want to be. There are roughly three stages: Stage 1: Explore the problem in an empathetic, non-judgemental environment. Stage 2: Clarify the key patterns and themes and make sense of some of the contradictions; put it all into context and gain insight into yourself and your life, and how and why the same problems keep coming up. Stage 3: Use this insight to start moving towards a richer, more pleasurable life.

Hi, I’m Ilan! I’m a Clinical Psychologist and Director of The Oak Tree Practice. I want to tell you a bit more about myself, as I realise selecting a psychologist can be a tough task! I feel very privileged to be able to say I love what I do and always have, ever since I started volunteering for ChildLine in 2007. Following this, I’ve had experience working with a wide variety of clients including children, young people, adults, older adults, military personnel, individuals with learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders and neurological conditions. I have also furthered my studies through the completion of undergraduate, masters and doctoral degrees. All this aside, one of the most important parts of my work is building relationships with those sitting opposite me. I have always believed that you can have all the training and knowledge in the world, but if the client doesn’t return, none of this can be put into action. Therefore, my first aim is always to provide a warm, compassionate and non-judgmental space where we can work on the clients’ difficulties together.

You are probably outwardly successful with a good business or career. Maybe you're an entrepreneur and even had one, or several, successful exits. And yet you're feeling the lack - lack of connection, lack of confidence, lack of command over your business and your relationships. You don't want to feel anxious, uptight and stressed. Instead, you want to be invigorated, energised, fulfilled. There's a sense of being so much more than you are currently feeling. Replacing limited with limitless. You're looking for something to have a profound impact on how you are leading your life.

You may experience unexpected disruption, chronic conditions, major life upheaval, triggering of past experiences, bereavement, and any of these could create anxiety, trauma or depression. Understanding could fall away, your support system could become unhelpful, anti-depressants may not be effective and your coping mechanisms may not work. You may feel overpowered by your circumstances and perhaps seek support and reinforcement as you experience distress. You may want your complex issues to be contained and get some tools and techniques to cope. Perhaps you may just like to confide in someone and share your experience.

Male Counsellors

As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?

There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?

Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?

Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?

Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
