Well into the 21st century, life is faster and, in many ways, “easier”—the world is a click away. Yet, expectations have multiplied. We’re supposed to be efficient, confident, independent, yet also connected, relaxed, and free. These contradictions can leave us feeling tense, confused, or dissatisfied, making it challenging to navigate life’s uncertainties. Amid this, we juggle relationships, family, work, and friendships—sometimes to the point where the struggle feels overwhelming. Challenges may manifest as anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, or simply a sense of exhaustion, burnout, or feeling lost.

With over 10 years of experience working in both the NHS and private practice, I’ve supported clients through a wide range of trauma and anxiety-based issues. Welcome to my profile. Are you feeling like something just isn’t quite right? You may know deep down that you have the strength to get through it, but perhaps you just need a little support or guidance to move forward. You're not alone — and you don’t have to face it alone. As a British Bangladeshi and bilingual therapist. I have worked extensively with clients from South Asian and Muslim communities. I understand the complexities of navigating cultural expectations, intergenerational conflict, identity struggles, shame, and stigma around mental health.

Hi, I'm a Clinical Psychologist, Coach and Consultant with 25 years of experience in the field. I’m a senior leader in the NHS, Director at Partisan and Leadership Coach. My life and work has always been rooted in social justice and equity, and I bring this into therapy as a warm, open curiosity about how you've been shaped and what you long. You might be at a point where old patterns no longer serve you, but you’re not yet able to step fully into who you want to be. I call this the 'space between' which can feel really uncomfortable when we don't know what's next. My approaches will help you get more clarity and take new actions.

Something brought you here. Maybe a relationship that feels frayed, an anxiety that won't let you rest, or a quiet sense that something needs to change. Reaching out is already an act of willingness, and that's where effective therapy begins. I'm a psychotherapist with a double Masters in Counselling and 1,400+ hours of practice. I work relationally. The relationship between us isn't just the container for the work. It is the work. As an Indian/UK Counsellor fluent in English, Hindi, and Kannada, I understand the particular weight of South Asian family dynamics and cultural expectations, you won't need to translate your world for me.

Sleep or Insomnia Counsellors
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
