I run an EMDR clinic on Wednesday evenings. I am a qualified counselling psychologist with more than 14 years experience of working in the NHS and in charities and 9 years of working with EMDR. I work in an integrative way to help you to find your own 'lightbulb' moment. I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become. -Carl Gustav Jung- A warm welcome to you. My primary aim is to facilitate a safe and empathic space for my clients where the psychological pain can be explored and validated without the fear of judgement or rejection. I have been trained in all mainstream therapeutic modalities, so I aim to tailor my approach to the unique needs and goals of each client. Alongside my private practice located just a few minutes from Hackney Wick station , I work in NHS as IAPT counsellor where I design and deliver individually tailored treatments for a wide range of presenting problems.

Living with an eating disorder can be really difficult. Between guilt around food, constant body checking, and pressure to look a certain way, it can feel as if your mind is stuck in a loop that’s hard to step out of. Many feel caught between two different versions of themselves: one that believes control over food or weight is crucial, and another that knows there is more to life than rules and self-criticism, but doesn’t know how to make lasting change. This can bring doubt, but your experience is very human and manageable. There is a place where food feels more neutral, choices come from self-trust, and worth comes from within.

People often come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. You might be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or work stress that builds over time. Sometimes it's a specific event, other times it's a gradual sense that something isn't right. My approach is warm and collaborative. Therapy offers a space to think together about what you are experiencing and the patterns shaping how you feel about yourself and your relationships. Trauma and attachment often sit beneath the difficulties people bring, and part of the work may involve exploring how earlier experiences have shaped you.

Life can be difficult, and we all go through times of challenge, uncertainty, or emotional pain. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling to make sense of your thoughts or emotions. Perhaps things that once helped no longer do, or something in your life has shifted. You may be looking for understanding, relief from distress, or a way forward that feels more manageable and meaningful.

I work with people who are trying to making sense of their place in the world, trying to answer questions of meaning, purpose and identity. If you're considering therapy, you may know what you want to work on, but feel stuck, frustrated, or in need of some support. You may know that something's not right but not know where to start. This may coincide with feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, or burn out. Psychotherapy is a space for you to discuss what's on your mind in a non-judgemental collaborative setting. This is a chance for you to tell your story, and make sense of what it means.

Therapy with me offers a safe and supportive space to pause, reflect, and make sense of these experiences. With warmth and curiosity, I help you understand what feels overwhelming, reconnect with your own strengths, and take steps toward living with greater balance and authenticity.

My main approach is to encourage you to explore your feelings and take responsibility for your thoughts and actions. As I work in a way that empowers the client, I always work with what you present. Bottled up feelings such as anger, anxiety, grief, jealousy, sadness, shame and pain can become very overwhelming. The opportunity to express them can make it much easier to understand yourself and others. As I acknowledge your feelings and respect you as a person in your own right, you gain self-respect and a sense of being valued. This leads to building trust between counsellor and client, which is an essential part of the process.
