When life feels overwhelming, stuck or emotionally exhausting, it can be hard to see what needs to change. You may be struggling with anxiety or low mood, navigating loss or relationship difficulties, or noticing unhelpful long-standing patterns that keep resurfacing. I am an experienced integrative counsellor and supervisor with over 15 years’ experience, working with adults in person in North London (N2) and online. I offer a calm, thoughtful and containing therapeutic space where we can slow things down, change the perspective and start to make sense of what’s happening for you — at a pace that feels right.

Therapy is a space for you: to feel understood and listened to. Perhaps for the first time. And it is through this fundamental encounter that you can feel more able and alive. Our work together can support you in making a change, reflecting on painful experience, bearing a loss, finding a purpose. It can support you in these - and more - through creating new awareness, making helpful connections and finding a way forward. Therapy provides a way for you to understand, confront, resolve, heal and grow. I provide a safe, welcoming space for you to explore whatever it is that you need and want. In confidence and without judgement.

I'm Eva, and I work with women healing from childhood trauma, domestic violence, betrayal, and Complex PTSD. You're seeking more than surface conversations—you want genuine transformation. Maybe you've tried therapy before but felt like you only scratched the surface. You're tired of just coping with anxiety and overwhelm—you want to understand why you keep repeating patterns. You feel stuck, fragmented, carrying the weight of your past into your present. You're intellectually curious, ready for depth, and willing to invest in truly understanding yourself. You want a therapist who honours complexity and walks the path with you.

Depending on what you would like to address you might chose to have short-term (6-20 sessions) or more open ended and in-depth therapy (20+). Sessions are typically 50 minutes long and weekly. I would recommend meeting initially to talk about what brings you for help at this time and for you to see how you feel talking to me. I usually review after six sessions when we can discuss whether we will carry on or not. I have worked for 20 years as an Integrative Humanistic and Relational counsellor and psychotherapist in a lovely variety of settings and and with people seeking therapy for many different issues.

I have worked in mental health for over ten years with adults across the lifespan, children and families who have experienced a range of difficulties, in both community and inpatient settings. I completed my doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Hertfordshire and currently work in a specialist NHS service for people with learning disabilities. I also have a special interest in working with people with psychosis and unusual experiences and much of my pre-training experience was in this area.

Life is full of challenges. At times we cope well, but at other times we need help, and talking to family members and friends can be difficult. At points like this, talking confidentially in a safe space to a professional counsellor can make a real difference. Through a warm and supportive relationship, we will explore any difficulties you are having in your life right now. We will also look back into your past, to try to understand patterns of behaviour that might not be quite so effective for you today. By exploring feelings and experiences and building self-awareness, we will work together to move towards a positive change.

I work with couples and families with a comprehensive range of difficulties. Often couples or families are stuck in unhelpful patterns, perhaps of angry exchanges which escalate or withdrawal and disconnection. I help you to understand what might be lying behind such difficult behaviour and find more helpful ways of communicating so that distress and vulnerability can be better managed in relationships and you can feel more connected. I have 25 years experience in the field, including Child and Family services in the NHS. I am fully professionally insured and operate within the codes of practice laid out by AFT and UKCP.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to check me out. I’ve got over 20 years experience helping clients. My background ranges from supporting clients with a wide range of challenges, where we work towards meeting goals for lasting change. Breaking unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaviour needs awareness as to why we do as we do. Most people at one point in their lives recognises the need for insight, support with understanding and empathy to help make sense of ones internal world. Through our relationship healing occurs, with trust and empathy at the core, giving you a safe space to explore pain, and find peace.

It takes courage to seek support, therefore I offer a confidential space where you can safely explore the particular situation you find yourself in. This may mean you come with a specific problem, anxiety, crisis or perhaps a vaguer sense that something doesn't feel quite right for you. Everyday life does not always leave room for reflection or questioning, therefore carving out a regular space to wonder, alongside another person about yourself, can be a powerful way to uncover how past experiences and relationships may have impacted the way things are now, whilst identifying how you would like things to be in the future.

Do you feel caught in the "in-between"—too changed to fully fit in back home, yet still feeling like an outsider in your new country? Living between cultures can feel like standing on a bridge, trying to hold two worlds together while carrying an invisible, heavy load. You might be experiencing "double loneliness," grieving the unlived parallel lives you left behind, or feeling profound exhaustion from constantly code-switching to belong. When we constantly tune parts of our identity up or down to navigate a new environment, our bodies carry the somatic cost.

We all feel overwhelmed at times and these feelings can be transient or more long-lasting. It can be helpful to explore your thoughts and emotions in a safe, non-judgmental space. I am registered with both the UKCP and BACP. I have an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and will draw on a range of different theories to support our work together. Therapy offers an opportunity to look at your life, relationships and problems from a new perspective. I believe therapy can help people to understand their difficulties and experiences, and make positive changes in their lives.

With over 20 years' experience, I am committed to supporting your wellbeing and mental health with understanding, empathy and compassion. I use an integrative approach, meaning that I draw on various models of therapy including psychodynamic and person-centred approaches to facilitate transformation, growth, well-being and improving relationships. I believe that a warm, empathic therapeutic relationship is key to the success of therapy. I also believe that the therapeutic process needs time to evolve, and while it is neither an emergency service nor a quick fix, when undertaken with commitment it can be life changing.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
