The app contains sessions where I teach you about crucial psychotherapeutic concepts and I guide you in meditation sessions, tapping and EFT, and in parts of EMDR sessions, to regulate your nervous system.
Hi, Kasia Cole here - a practising psychotherapist and an academic for over a decade in London. I created the Balance Psychotherapy APP for those who can’t be in psychotherapy, it’s not a right time at the moment, or you are in psychotherapy and you would like to deepen your experience in-between sessions or possibly speed up your healing. It is a unique programme that developed from the need of my clients to work with affect in depth and to balance it in their every day life. This is its strength and uniqueness - it works directly with emotions! Of course - I can always meet you for sessions.

I work with a range of clients from different backgrounds and with a variety of presentations. Most of my work is with adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, and identity and relational difficulties. These may show up as intra or interpersonal difficulties, shame, fear or anxieties around health, performance and confidence, self-esteem and worth, and within social and relational contexts. I provide an open, non-judgemental, validating and conversational space that encourages curiosity, learning and growth, intrinsically and relationally.

Are you living with higher levels of anxiety than those around you would’ve guessed? Pouring over moves you make, wishing you said or did things differently? Are you worrying at nighttime, despite all your best efforts not to? When our internal alarm system gets activated and the button to turn it off seems to have gone missing, it has a way of taking over every area of our life. I'm guessing that if you're reading this you've probably tried many ways to control the way you're feeling. It can be a frustrating experience not to gain control over it, perhaps especially so, if you’re used to succeed in other areas of your life.

The protective power of arts in health and mental health has been with us for millennia and today is evidence based. Daily life's emotional demands often go unnoticed and coping with anger, fear and sadness is socially accepted to happen in silence. Nourishing and protecting our mental health can get easily neglected. Although family and friends can play a wonderful supportive role in times of need they may not be enough in times of crisis. Making the choice to look after our mental health is our first step to personal growth. Making art is creative and fun. Being part of a supportive and safe group is therapeutic.

We believe that everyone is unique and therefore is dealt with in a way that best caters to his or her individual needs. We work with you by exploring your world to see how you engage with your life and the people around you. Along the journey, we will explore your past, look at your present and see how you perceive the future. We will help you become more aware of your values, beliefs and limitations and help you connect and improve your relationship with yourself. This process may be challenging, yet extremely rewarding as we access the changes you want to make towards living the life that you want to live.

I believe that we all have the capacity for growth and change given the right environment. Creating that environment starts with finding a therapist you can connect and feel safe with. As individual & unique beings it makes sense to me that there is no ‘one size fits all model’ when it comes to therapy. Naturally, different people need different things at different times. The wonderfully dynamic process of therapy is proven to work best when it is co-created (between therapist and client) in the presence of genuine warmth, open-mindedness, listening and acceptance. These qualities are always at the heart of my work.

Are you caught in a cycle of broken relationships, battling Self sabotage, shame, and low self-esteem? Does anger, addiction, or a yearning for change linger in your thoughts, yet you're uncertain where to begin? Perhaps your upbringing was marked by hostility, abuse or you felt unseen & unheard by emotionally distant parents. Whether your struggles stem from short-term or prolonged trauma, navigating its impact on your daily life leaves you feeling adrift, unsure how to separate the past from the present.

I am counselling psychologist and integrative psychotherapist that has worked with couples and individuals for over 20 years. Being an integrative psychotherapist means, I believe that different approaches are needed to deal with the individual needs of my client - one size does not fit all. With that in mind, I have trained within various approaches, so I can offer a more holistic and in-depth approach in how I work. Working with my clients, I see us finding ways of overcoming or addressing the issues that are presented, in a way that feels authentic to how they are as people.

To thrive at work and in life, we rely on having good concentration, focus, decision-making, memory, emotional agility, psychological flexibility and cognitive ability. Together, these functions can be described as 'good brain health'. However, these vital functions can be interrupted by stress, anxiety, neurodivergence (ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia), hormonal changes, and viruses such as Long Covid. I work with people who want to proactively improve, protect and optimise their brain health, executive function, peak performance and mental wellbeing.

My name is Danielle and I am a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC). I draw on a range of psychological interventions grounded in acceptance and compassion to help you to get a better understanding of yourself and support you towards greater well-being. Whatever you are looking for support with, I will try to understand your experiences from your perspective and work with you to think about what you want to change and how you can move towards this. Regardless of the modality, I believe the most important factor is creating a safe, non-judgemental space between us.

Emotionally Focused Counsellors

Who is emotionally focused therapy for?

Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?

People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?

Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?

EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
