I am a relational psychotherapist with a particular interest in relationship issues, self esteem and anxiety. Relationships may be sources of love, support and nourishment but can also cause you to feel anxious, stressed, confused, in pain and in turmoil. You may have hit a time when you feel very lost and it is unclear what comes next. It is perfectly normal to feel anxious, confused or challenged about areas in our life such as ageing, relationships, family and the direction of our careers.

I am an integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor and work in a person centred way. I specialise in addiction, though I also see clients for various other issues and work collaboratively to explore what is behind their anxiety, depression and to build self esteem . I provide a safe non-judgemental space to allow clients to talk about any current challenges they are facing and also to look back on their life to identify patterns of relating and ways of being in the world. I believe this holding experience to be at the heart of change and overcoming difficulties.

I understand that you might be coming into therapy for any number of reasons- the breakdown of a relationship, low self esteem , depression, anxiety, bereavement, paranoia, or trauma.
Hello, my name is Charlotte. I am a UKCP registered trainee psychotherapist. I know that coming to therapy can often feel difficult and scary. The desire to want to change often comes out of finding yourself stuck in the same place. This can feel confusing and even overwhelming, so finding the right therapist for you is essential. Together, we will work on making sense of the mental blocks you’ve hit to unlock new ways of thinking through the past in order to awaken present. I am a warm, empathic and direct counsellor who can offer you a confidential space to explore yourself deeply and in your own time.

Is there something troubling you? Something upsetting you? Something making you sad, anxious, angry, fearful, lonely or unheard? Have you lost someone you love or lost direction? Or is it something inside that you can’t fathom out, but is affecting your life? These feelings and many others are ones we all face during our lives and when they remain unaddressed they can lead to anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship problems, work issues, loss of self-confidence and self-esteem, or simply a feeling of being stuck. The good news is that therapy can help you explore one's issues you in a safe, caring and confidential space.

Over the years, I have work with clients on short-term and long-term arrangements, dealing with depression, anxiety, suicidal crisis, anger, low self-esteem, panic disorders, relationship issues, trauma, questions of spirituality and meaning, such as Who am I?. From my own experience of therapy, insight some times is not enough. Therefore I might ask you to complete certain tasks designed to help you develop more effective skills. This approach often involves homework assignments. I draw on many techniques, including visualisation, dream exploration, drawing, role-play, and the most familiar method: conversation between two people.

Together we can work on issues such as anxiety, depression, burnout, stress management, career decisions, self esteem , relationships, bereavement, trauma, relational trauma.
I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist & Counsellor (PG Dip Psych, Msc, CTA) I work both long term and short term with individuals and couples. I am also qualified in and incorporate EMDR therapy if suitable. People approach counselling for many different reasons. Sometimes it is just to get clear about a past experience or to change a habit. At times in life you may identify a part, or parts of life, where you feel stuck. I offer an impartial ear and a collaborative space for you to find the clarity or resolve you may be seeking. The process of talking therapy and self understanding can be empowering as a result.

I have worked with people, from different backgrounds, suffering from anxieties and feelings of despair and depression. Self criticism and criticism towards others may lead to isolation and low self esteem . People may not understand their feelings or why similar patterns in relationships occur. Grief arising from a loss, such as a bereavement, may too evoke a wide range of difficult feelings making it hard to cope. Whilst the facts of the past cannot be changed, your story can become updated in therapy. This can help un-addressed difficulties feel more manageable. Consequently, therapy can be a catalyst for growth and healing.

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
