I’m an active, creative, and compassionate therapist, with a background in sport and theatre, and over 15 years of experience. I work with people who feel stuck in patterns — in themselves or in their relationships — that don’t shift despite insight or effort. This can include work stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life changes and decisions, questions around identity, including LGBTQ+ experiences and more. I help make sense of what’s happening and support change that feels real and workable in everyday life.

Hi I’m Swaliha. I strongly believe counselling is for everyone. Together, in a non-judgemental space we can dedicate time to exploring your difficulties and establish what you would like to gain from counselling and life itself. People choose to start psychotherapy because of the struggles they face; often there is pain, sadness, suffering and loss with a sense of being stuck in it. It may be that you feel alone, unfulfilled, depressed or anxious or perhaps you have experienced a trauma which continues to affect you. We can work through these difficulties and others together safely.

My specialist areas are relational difficulties and trauma. From these areas, we experience symptoms such as anxiety, depression, relationship breakdown, and at times other harmful and/or repetitive behaviours. My focus will be on helping you understand the function they have served for you, where they come from, and how to bring about change I have experience of working with individuals who present with diagnoses such as ADHD, autism, with one or more of the many different personality disorder, and with individuals who experience psychotic states of mind. That said, anyone can engage in therapy at any time, and, for any reason.

Welcome, my name is Maja. I'm a clinical psychologist and a work in a relational, trauma-informed way. My style is warm, grounded, and reflective. Increasingly, my practice has drawn clients who may be exploring ADHD and/or autism as adults, seeking therapy that recognises and affirms difference rather than pathologising it. You might be navigating a recent diagnosis, questioning whether neurodivergence is part of your experience, or reflecting on longstanding challenges with overwhelm, masking, anxiety, relationships, or feelings of disconnect. I offer a space to explore these experiences thoughtfully and safely, at your own pace.

Have you ever considered therapy intensives/retreats? You may be exhausted from trying to cope, repeating the same patterns, or feeling like nothing you try brings real relief. You want to feel like yourself again — calmer, clearer, more connected — and you’re craving a therapy experience that actually moves things forward. Whether you’re carrying trauma, anxiety, heartbreak, burnout, or relationship pain, you’re looking for something deeper and more transformative than “just talking.” You want lasting change, not more waiting.

I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and burnout. Many of my clients feel stuck in repeating emotional or relational patterns that are difficult to understand or change on their own. They may be struggling with the impact of earlier life experiences, current life pressures, or a sense of feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or self-critical. People often come to therapy when they want to make sense of what is going on internally and find a more stable and compassionate way forward in their lives and relationships.

Divorce Counsellors
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioural therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
