Some people seek psychotherapy and counselling because of a quiet desire for something more, some because of an absence of joy and liveliness, some feel a lingering sadness, some find themselves in shallow relationships, some are suffering the pains of depression , anxiety or anger, some feel close to madness, some are curious to take a closer look at the riches within.

My clients have presented with difficulties such as anxiety and depression , severe trauma, abuse, phobias, personality disorders, psychosis, relationship difficulties, attachment, bereavement and identity issues.
I am an integrative practitioner which means that my practice is influenced by more than one approach. In my work I focus on adapting the best-suited approach to your individual needs. This might entail helping you find coping strategies to address specific symptoms or assisting you to increase understanding of yourself and your relationships with others. I am also using DIT model (Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy) which is a 16 sessions time limited therapy aiming to identify and change unhelpful patterns affecting your important relationships and professional achievements.

When there is no one to talk to, or you feel that you would be a burden if you did, it’s time to talk to me. Perhaps there's no particular reason why; you just feel different, or anxious, stressed, out-of-place, lonely, frustrated or confused. If you think it’s too embarrassing to tell anyone, you don’t want to make a big deal out of things, or you don’t want to appear weak for not having the answers, and it feels like no-one would understand. It's ok. You have come to the right place. I'm a psychologist, working part-time in an NHS complex anxiety and depression service. I am also a dating and relationship specialist. I can help.

I am an experienced, passionate therapist who genuinely enjoys the process of helping people work through emotional difficulty. With a background in law and physical wellbeing, my approach to therapy is holistic in outlook; I always try to keep one foot in the real world as we explore your reasons for therapy.  Clients often present with a general sense of anxiety or depression . Perhaps current circumstances have proved overwhelming and they need support guiding themselves back. Or old behavioral patterns have re-emerged and this is proving distressing. By holding space for you to reflect, we can work through your issues together.

In my experience, psychotherapy can be exceptionally valuable for helping people with underlying feelings of depression or anxiety, low self-esteem, inability to form satisfactory, intimate relationships as well as helping us to understand ourselves and why we act and feel the way we do.
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor, with over fifteen years of experience working within the NHS, voluntary and private sectors. I trained at the Tavistock Centre and I am a member of Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists as well as a member of British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I am accredited by the British Psychoanalytical Council. My experience includes working at the Counselling and Psychotherapy Department at Kings College Hospital, the Adults Complex Needs Service at the Tavistock and Portman NHS, The Centre for Better Health Counselling Service and Islington Bereavement Service.

Are you feeling low, lost or anxious? Are you looking for a supportive therapist who will listen to you and help you make sense of what’s going on in your life? I work with people who have anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues and depression , among other difficulties. Sometimes these emerged after a loss or setback, or maybe they are feelings that have always been there and now is the time to tackle them. Perhaps it's hard to even say why, or why now. Whichever it is, I’ll support you, listen to you, and help you understand what’s going on right now, how it relates to the past, and how you can make changes for the future.

Whether it is anxiety, depression , addiction or another issue something is maintaining it to the point that you just can’t shake it off.
I offer short term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which will enable you to better understand what is maintaining a particular issue so that we can work together towards making you feel better. To be clear you are the expert on you and my role is to support you so that you may help yourself without having to spend an inordinate amount of time having therapy or continually returning to therapy. I offer an initial six entirely confidential sessions at a safe space in Bow, East London. Alternatively I am also qualified in Gestalt humanistic therapy too for if the issue runs a bit deeper and the support needed is longer term.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
