We are a national service supporting parents of children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental and neurological needs, including tics and Tourette Syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. We work with families who are often feeling uncertain about what is happening for their child, how to manage symptoms, or what support is needed following diagnosis or injury. Our approach focuses on developing a clear, individualised understanding of each child’s strengths and difficulties, and how these present across home, school, and everyday life.

I provide support for a range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, stress, anger, OCD, phobias, trauma, work & academic-related difficulties & sleep issues.
Hi! I'm Aika. I consistently strive to be an authentic, curious and professional psychologist, to create a safe space where those I work with can feel like they can speak freely and honestly and be supported with meaningful steps forward in their lives. Though I have lived and worked in the UK for over a decade now, I was born and raised in Hong Kong, a vibrant and multicultural city that I am proud to call home. I read my bachelor’s degree at the University of Cambridge, my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Sciences at University College London, and my doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Oxford.

Hello and thanks for stopping. I love what I do. 'Extremely easy to talk to'...'turned things around for me'...'helped save my life' being just a few client comments. I've been qualified since 2013; during that time I've worked with serving police officers and civilian staff at Merseyside Police, those supported by Victim Support Homicide Service, VI Form students, Occupational Health & EAP clients. I know that being a counsellor was always meant for me because I have an affinity with people and being able to be 'with' them. This and my life experience gives me the most perfect grounding to be the best that I can be for my clients.

Maybe you're trying to hold everything together while feeling disconnected from yourself. Perhaps you’ve spent so long taking care of others that you’ve lost sight of your own needs. You may be struggling with low self-esteem, people-pleasing, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You're not alone, and don’t have to figure it out alone. My approach is culturally sensitive. I create a space where you can speak freely without judgment or the need to explain your background. I also integrate tools from CBT, compassion-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care to support your goals at your pace.

I have a deep appreciation and passion for working with adults and children who have experienced trauma. I have a diverse range of skills and experience, such as cross-cultural psychology, immigration, self-esteem and neurodiversity, e.g., autism and ADHD. I walk with my clients through the darkness of their experience, holding the space with compassion, helping them understand their experiences better, make sense of them, accept their whole existence, and fully love and embrace themselves. I believe healing is a process in which both the therapist and the clients contribute and grow together.

I have also worked with include both child and adult eating disorders, OCD, psychosis, stroke rehabilitation and people who have offended who are staying in hospital.
When we meet, we’ll spend time getting to know each other so I understand what brought you to see me. It’s really important to me that we build a solid foundation for our relationship, built on trust, warmth and a non-judgemental approach. We’ll think about what might be helpful in moving forwards and what you might expect from our work together.

I am a seeking to help people who are struggling with the impact of a traumatic experience. This may be an individual traumatic experience or multiple events. Often times people living with symptoms of trauma feel alone, isolated and hopeless. The thought of seeking help and recovery can feel overwhelming and uncertain. I would like to work with clients who are ready to take the first step, or are seeking lasting recovery from difficult past experiences.

I am a compassionate psychologist who believes that healing and growth begin in a space where people feel safe, understood, and respected. I work collaboratively with clients to help them make sense of their experiences, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop skills that support meaningful change. My approach is thoughtful and individualized, recognizing that no two people—or families—are the same. Whether supporting children, adolescents, adults, or couples, I focus on understanding the emotional patterns beneath current challenges and helping clients move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Welcome. With a background in both Psychology & Psychotherapy I combine this training with lived experience to offer you empathy & validation, as well as support for you to change and grow. I integrate psychological, psychodynamic, DBT, CBT, sleep & somatic approaches to tailor therapy to your needs. When we get things stabilised together, felt-safety established in your brain-body system, and more constructive coping strategies brought in, people who work with me tend to have increased self-awareness, self-esteem and self-care tools, as well as less self-criticism and improved psychological, physical & social health & wellbeing.

I work with children, young people, families, and adults who might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or in need of some extra support. Many people come to me wanting to better understand themselves or their child and find a way forward. I provide a safe, welcoming space to explore what’s going on, build on strengths, and feel more connected, whether that’s through therapy or support for parents and carers.

I also regularly work with people experiencing depression, low self-esteem, a range of anxiety difficulties, including OCD, social anxiety and health anxiety, and PTSD and trauma-related problems.
Are you struggling to sleep — lying awake at night, exhausted but unable to switch off? Or have you tried everything for your sleep and still can't make it stick? I specialise in sleep difficulties and insomnia, offering a combined approach that most therapists don't: CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I) — the gold standard, evidence-based treatment — alongside EMDR, which I use to address the anxiety, stress or trauma that often drives poor sleep in the first place. I trained in CBT-I with the University of Oxford, and I'm an accredited CBT therapist (BABCP) with over a decade of experience working in NHS Talking Therapies services.
