I help people strive to make sense of often complex issues because developing our self-awareness empowers us towards acceptance and change. I am passionate about connecting with others through therapeutic relationships in order to collaboratively address difficulties and achieve goals.

Problems often do not fit into easy categories as each person has their own individual history and way of being, and so difficulties emerge in a unique way to the individual. For example, depression or anxiety might be completely normal reactions to a difficult situation. Anxious about contacting me? I would encourage you not to be put off by feeling anxious about making contact regarding psychotherapy. Feeling anxious is a normal aspect of therapy, especially at first. You are talking to a stranger, after all, about sensitive problems, even if that stranger is a professional.

I support clients with a wide range of issues, especially those struggling with family and childhood trauma, chronic health issues, health anxiety and burnout in the workplace. For me, the aim of therapy is to connect you with your joy. It's about helping you find your smile again. You are important and you deserve to be happy. One phrase I often hear is, "I've never told anyone this before." I aim to provide a safe space where sharing difficult things and lifting the burden becomes possible. Working together in a supportive and confidential environment, we can explore your experiences and find a way forward that works for you.

Most of us experience times in our lives when we feel lost, stuck, misunderstood and sometimes we can find ourselves in a dark place not knowing what to do or how to make the changes we might feel are needed. This can involve questioning who we are, wrestling with difficult questions, trauma, illness, addiction or loss. Sometimes people don't have anyone they feel able to talk to or sharing with people close might be difficult. I hope to offer a space in which you can feel safe and respected while you explore these challenges and move towards improved mental health.

I am a qualified, HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with almost a decade's worth of experience of supporting people with a broad range of mental health issues. I've found that often, people feel stuck and confused, with questions of "why?" and "how?" when their mental health troubles them. Whether it be work or relationship stress; family issues; anxieties about health or socialising; trauma or depression, I’ve found people tend to get a better understanding of what’s bothering them when they figure it out with another person. Psychology calls this “formulation” and it gives us both a clearer path towards resolving the problem.

Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly what we are going through. We might feel bad or find something distressing but struggle to fully make sense of it. Together we can work through key areas you find challenging to reach a shared understanding of how these problems developed and why they persist despite your efforts to overcome them. Any form of therapy should ask what you want to achieve from your sessions. We can establish the main things you would like to see change in your life and focus our sessions on helping you get there.

I am a very experienced and professional therapist with over twelve thousand client contact hours behind me in individual, couples and group work. I feel my experience coupled with my life experiences makes me the person and the therapist I am today. My training in the person-centred approach (three years) and in Transactional Analysis (seven years) together with continuing professional and personal development and supervision give me a strong theoretical and experiential focus to bring to my client work. I work very much in a relational way (research indicates that the therapeutic relationship is key to positive therapy outcomes)
