I tend to use a carefully crafted mix of the following approaches: EMDR, CBT, CFT, CAT, DBT, Systemic Theory, Internal Family Systems and Psychodynamic concepts.
I am passionate about trauma informed practice: making every effort to understand the impact of people’s lived experiences on their daily lives. My approach is based on psychological formulation, to make sense of what a person is experiencing, and then using a range of integrated approaches to help people to make changes. I care about empowering individuals to live the lives they want to live, and take a very human and empathic approach to working with people's distress.

I integrate a range of the powerful therapies to work with the difficult stuff: AEDP, IFS Lv1,2,3 (Parts/Ego State/Inner Child), Brainspotting, Cert.
18 years experience as a therapist & 20 years in mental health. I offer something quite different to Counselling and CBT. People who see me usually want help with unexplained physical symptoms, mood, to recover from trauma, and sometimes to process the difficult stuff. Therapies that I use are deep, are non-shaming, far-reaching, and work with you - not against you. I work with people who want an immersive, and expansive experience. When you see me it's not just talking about it, we work to heal it through mindful & somatic based approaches. I offer 50 mins & 1.5 Hour Sessions Mon-Sat, limited availability.

Online psychotherapist with an eclectic and inventive approach. Practicing Internal Family Systems Therapy ( IFS ) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I believe that people already have within themselves what they need in order to overcome their struggles. All it takes is a bit of guidance and someone to ask the right questions. My wish for my clients is that they find the inner freedom to live the life that they want. I mostly work with expats, travelers, digital nomads, burners - I can relate to the lifestyle and can appreciate the need for flexibility and rescheduling sessions when necessary, however, anyone is welcome.

I am also trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy which recognises our hurt and protective parts and also the capacity we all have for healing and change.
Do you want to understand yourself, feel better about yourself, and experience change in your life? You may have experienced trauma, or feel puzzled about why you feel as you do because there doesn’t seem to be an obvious cause. Either way, there are good reasons for how you feel, which I can help you to explore. You might feel stuck in patterns and unsure how to break free of them. A lot of information which helps us unlock these patterns is held in our emotions, reactions, and actions, often those that we try to keep away from. With compassionate guidance, it is possible to access this information and experience change.

I became a therapist because earlier in my life therapy helped me through anxiety and an eating disorder. So I know what it feels like on the other side too! I believe deeply in the therapeutic process and I am living proof that healing and recovery can change your life for the better. Working with me, we will create a space where you can feel totally safe to open up all the issues affecting you, discuss them and explore them and hopefully help you find the clarity and direction for you to move forward in a positive way.

Perhaps something has shifted in your thoughts/feelings/behaviour that’s uncomfortable, or maybe you’ve decided to explore a long-standing issue. I help my clients achieve their therapeutic goals either by discussing their current or past issues through counselling/psychotherapy or some clients also opt to have hypnotherapy with me too (you can read about that on my website). I offer empathy, confidentiality, safety and opportunity to explore their feelings in a therapeutic relationship. I'm not here to pass judgement or advise but instead I'm here to help you navigate the highs and lows.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Counsellors

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
